Yamaha YZ250FX vs Honda CRF250RX (Pro Racers's favorite?)

The fx is an amazing bike, I have a 2021 250fx and I'm in love with it, 183 hours on it, all I do os keep up with oil changes and change the air fitter, I haven't even check the valves clearance and runs like new.

Yamaha the 6 speed transmission along with lots of items available like Fan kit, along with GYTR.

Both great bikes, but the CRF is a motorcross bike with a few subtle changes to make it a little better off-road, while the yamaha is a purpose built off-road racer. Honda has the 6sp set up in the X model, why they didn't just bring back an updated 250X is beyond me.

Have you had any starting problems or fouling plugs on the 250fx? I hear that is a problem on some bikes.

No fouled plugs, starting it does struggle a bit but that’s just a clutch adjustment

Not going to lie I just purchased a 2023 Honda crf 450x and it’s already leaking trans fluid after only 17 miles idk why going back to the dealer tomorrow

My local dirt bike shop mechanic clearly states, “more maintenance issues with Honda. Stay away.” He tells me they haven’t built a reliable bike since the XR models were discontinued. He said if you have the money, get KTM, if you don’t have the money, buy Yamaha or Kawasaki.

Yeah that is true Yamaha makes the most reliable bikes in my opinion and KTM is really close! Out of the box KTM is hard to beat these days. The YZ250FX is our e tire crew’s favorite out of the 2 bikes. So far it’s the bike to beat….but in other news we just got our hands on a 2023 KTM250XCF and spent the weekend at the moto track and it’s really good
