R1m if you do a ton of street riding and a bit of track here and there. The suspension is awesome. If you do track only I’d get a base and upgrade the suspension to manual ohlins; and you can dial it down to your style and weight. Aside from the forks and body work the bike is completely identical.

I have a 2019 Yamaha R1 and I love it. It’ll probably be my last sports bike I will ever own. I started off on a 2002 gsxr 600 then got a 2009 R1 then got a 2007 drz 400 sm then back to a 2012 gsxr 750 then fell out of love with super sport then got me a 2016 Yamaha FZ09, then kept the fz09 and got me a 2017 Kawasaki z125 till this day then traded my 2016 fz09 with the 2019 Yamaha R1. My friend was asking me to buy my DRZ400 for awhile so I sold it to him. But I have a Raven Red color love love love it. Love the CP4 engine sound.

This is actually one of the only positive reviews I have watched over the R1 platform. I’ve heard the brakes and the power output is severely underpowered compared to ducati, aprilia, bmw, etc (top tier liter bikes).
@PilotLifePOV
@PilotLifePOV 2 жыл бұрын
It’s whoever has the biggest purse unfortunately… Yamaha like Honda and Suzuki don’t put a ton of money into their marketing. They prove it to you as a valued consumer. Ducati is the top tier premium brand and they’ve literally hit it out of the park; but championships don’t lie. Take a look at WSBK; the bikes dominating are the R1, V4R, Zx10RR. If you’re looking at price to performance; the R1 is unbeatable. Yes there’s the s1k; but take it from me as I’ve owned the new 2022 S1000RR; engine cut out twice on two separate and random occasions and water pump failed not even 3 weeks of ownership. Thanks for watching; hope that is clear - goal is to shed some light on all of the bikes I’ve owned and or ridden previously and current.

@@Nick-Edwards Power wise yes it’s 200bhp; but that is bone stock; and the feeling of the bike is just insanely quick. Low and midrange is ridiculous and the holy balls factor is up there when you’re getting on it. Like I’ve mentioned it is the scariest bike I’ve ridden as the electronics doesn’t intrude on your riding. I ride in C mode with power setting at 3 because of the Bren tuning. Bike is making 194whp which is stupid quick …

Fantastic review, thank you. Im on the edge Panigale V2. Baylis or R1M or BMW.a1K. Panigale gets hot, is beautiful but for the parts like titanium exhaust to mitigate heat and improve sound the cost is now R1M new and exceeds a s1K. I cannot justify that, my god its expensive. BMW losses on maintenance from your advice, but the R1m, sound, flicability, fun factor, LOOKS, maintenance, seems to win out even though it isnt top end fastest but we street riders dont need top end, so R1M it seems to be.
@PilotLifePOV

R1M would be my choice. I’ve owned all three - S1K, V4S. The Yamaha is a race bike and it’s the most fun and also the most raw in terms of experience. BMW was super boring but it was quick. It broke on me so many times right out of the gate I sold it back immediately and took a major hit. You won’t regret the Yamaha. Easy to maintain, parts availability, sound is amazing, and it’s super quick. By no means it’s a slow liter.

Loved the review! I saw you mentioned you had a 22 BMW S1K-if you were to ignore the problems that you had with yours-out of the two, the R1M and the 22 S1k, which would you pick? I've been starstruck with the R1/R1M and have been debating on trading the 22 S1K for the R1/R1M. I'm super sad that the R1/R1M doesn't come with cruise control as that's a big thing for me. Thanks!

I know it's all up to the person and their height, weight, and size but wanted to see how you felt on it. "Supersports are uncomfortable/painful".... this comes from people who are out of shape and don't proper body positioning and keeping loose on the bars so they feel extra pressure on wrists and also not keeping the core solid and feeling cramped in the legs. Now, granted these bikes are not designed for comfort but they're far from "painful" like out of shape noobs make out. I have a question tho haha-- in FL you actually have some twisty roads where you're at because that tire only has a small unworn strip on it.

@@PilotLifePOV I am originally from FL and raced dirt bikes as a teen-- live in CA now and have a hypernaked and a GSXR600 mainly for track but I take out the 600 for some twisty rides sometimes too and it's not bad at all for a few hours of twisty shredding-- obviously the naked is preferable for an all day ride but you just have to know how to position on the supersport it's that simple. I actually like the 600 for track cuz can just push it to it's max where as you're noting that modern R1 is just an insane fire breathing dragon and so much effort goes into controlling it. I do know Lake county has some farmland roads with some cool sweepers but that'd be your average California road lol -- I'm planning on moving back to FLA at some point so I figured I'm just going to be doing a lot of track days cuz of the lack of curves but there's probably more curvy for group rides than I realize.

Power wise; the r1 was nasty. I did have a 1100 Factory 2020; but the r1m was so scary to ride because of how aggressive the throttle response was. If you don’t know how to or cannot find a reliable place to do it; then I would definitely pick the r1, or even Ducati V4s if you have the extra cash laying around. @PilotLifePOV
@PilotLifePOV Жыл бұрын
That’s the million dollar question right now. The V4s is now MSRP at $31,595 which is $4K over my 2021 model and the r1m is $5K less than the new 2023 V4s. Tough. You won’t go wrong with either one just depends what you like more. Personally the Panigale V4s is a monster and it is extremely stable especially on top end. It is also outputting more power, electronics are refined and are top of the line. But at the sacrifice of price. It just depends honestly on your budget. I would pick the Panigale V4s at the end of the day. To me it’s more aesthetically pleasing; more exclusive in my opinion because not a whole lot of people will be willing to go that far in terms of financials to purchase a bike like this. You are getting a lot more goodies but like I said; in exchange for a more premium price.

Hi, Could someone here to help me about the R1 M? I want to by one. I have the R6 of 2018 and I would like to know if the driving position is more aggressive than mine (R6 2018)? Except power , how different it is from R6 (2018)? Do they have a difference in the height of the seat? These details are very important to me, because I am short. Another issue is with weight. How much heavier you feel it on the road? I apologize for my English and for the lengthy text. I wish all of us always standing up and happy new year!

The r1 is completely night and day in terms of riding position from the R6. The R1 is very aggressive and the power increase is also significant. Like I stated in the video; the R1 is best suited for taller riders but you can always try. Don’t expect it to give you max comfort… it’s a race bike.

Dear ape rider, Thank you for the reply. I wish everyone a happy new year! I had the impression the riding position is from the most aggressive in R6, Due to the fact that the R6 It's made for racing also. So because of your own experience on both machines, (R1 and R6) I took the courage of asking you, but also the rest peοple on your channel . I understand that it is a racing machine, i definitely don't have to wait for comfort, but also the R6 made in this spirit, so i was wondering if it is so difficult the transition from one to the other? for me the most difficult thing in this machine (R1) would be to manage the pain from the racing driving position as in R6, the extra weight of the R1,and if I can touch, at least with my tiptoes down, I'm 1.68 (5.6) in height. Thank you for your time. I apologize if I became tiresome.

I have a R1 M and R6 The R1 handles better then the R6 hands down it's lower then the R6 which is very tall and you really have to ride hard to get the results. The R6 I think looks better the the R1... the mirrors vibrate on the R1 and don't on the R6 my biggest grip is the TFT display it's small and sits to flat it needs to be like the Triumph 765 rs with a TFT that can be angled so you can see it. FYI :Yes the brakes are not the best it's the OEM pads that are the issue the EBC GPFX pads totally transforms the brakes..

I really want one but Yamaha has gone too lazy and has not update the bike I can’t justify it over the V4S if they update this bike in 2024 might go for it if not I’ll pick the V4S instead, and yes I owned a 2020 and got ride of it because it didn’t felt like a premium bike compared to it’s competitors like BMW and Ducati still has a super small display and very old tech just a shame because I love the looks and the sound of this bike.

@@PilotLifePOV I mean they’re in the same price range so you have to compare them. Yamaha just gone lazy and have not updated this bike since 2015 they only did a facelift in 2020 just fairing that’s it this bike is old in comparison with the S1000RR and the V4S and I feel like they won’t update it either to be honest.
@PilotLifePOV
@PilotLifePOV 2 жыл бұрын
@@joshyjorge07 If you’re comparing price range the Yamaha bests the Ducati by a long shot. MSRP for 2023 Panigale V4s is $30,695… R1M is $27K… Desmo/Valve check for the Panigale will run you $1300-1500 USD every 15K miles… Valves for the R1 are closer to 40K mile interval… Just depends on what you’re after tbh. It it’s strictly track riding; yes the Panigale had slightly better electronics and more goodies ie brembo braking system and ohlins electronic steering dampener… But keep in mind the $3K+ price difference between the two. For your average street rider; the Yamaha is the way to go. But if you’re looking for that flare; and Italian racing heritage then Ducati without a doubt. Both great bikes and you can’t go wrong with the two in any case.

I’ve ridden the new 10R.. the quick shifter isn’t as smooth. Anyone can go fast in a straight line. Question is can you turn? This isn’t a pissing contest tbh; all bikes have their own unique properties - strengths and weaknesses. If your comparing the price of the R1M to a ZX10R; then obviously the M is more expensive. A comparable bike would be the base model R1. Idk what you mean by do “bad things to the r1”… If you’re talking straight line monkey racing then sure. The ZX10 is quick.
