@@jarnosaarinen4583 The power- band was very narrow, and in the higher rpm range. They had to keep the bike "on the pipe" as much as possible, to operate in that power-band. That's the reason for the 1/4 turn throttle.

Isso é que era motos a sério não é a porcaria de motores a 4 tempos. Motos a sério são a 2 tempos, deixavam para competição 125,250 e 500 e para andar na estrada as 250 do antigamente.

C’est à l’époque ces motos Yamaha qui m’ont fait aimer cette marque, avec notamment la 250 et 350 2 temps, magnifiques motos avec celle ci, du coup, j’en ai eu 3 que j’ai gardé longtemps, d’abord à l’âge de 27 ans ma première moto : une FZ 750 gardé 4 ans et demi, puis une FZR 1000 avec le phare trapézoïdal, débridée en Full et personnalisé plusieurs fois et gardé : 6 ans et demi, très physique comme moto et enfin une Thunder Ace YZF 1000 acheté en occasion avec 10000 km gardé 6 ans et demi aussi et toujours débridée en Full, elle était plus grosse que la FZR, j’étais également attiré par la R1 mais trop sportive pour moi et trop fine, j’aime les gros gabarit lol et j’adore toujours Yamaha.

The most beautiful machine that man ever made. No ABS, Traction Control or any other rider aids, at all. I’ve read that this thing was an absolute beast, giving even the most talented professional riders a hard time. But to a few specially capable riders, this thing was pure magic. Sharp, fast, focused and capable, whilst scaring the bejesus out of you. No technology to save you from pitching it into the weeds. A test of pure talent and the balls to know that your life is truly in your hands, as you roll on the throttle and pitch into an apex turn. Can you imagine?
