Seems like Yamaha gave him a stripped MT-07 to work instead of an XSR. He was going to rip it off to make space for his own bodywork anyway, so who cares? 🤣🤣 (look at the gauge at 05:14, it's the MT's)

Unfortunately the xsr700 is complete opposite to what Shinya is saying here. It does not excite you in anyway. Its super quiet and has no soul. Although what they build on this video is probably legendary and i would buy it in a heart beat. I had very high expectations for the xsr until yesterday when i test rode one. Its light, nimble and feels faster than the mt-07, but something off about it. I just dont feel it, you certainly need an aftermarket exhaust to be able to hear the engine. It was just too underwhelming.

Soul is a matter of perception and one's own taste. XSR700 has plenty of soul to me and personally I don't like loud exhausts. I think they're obnoxious and made for people who just want some cheap attention and annoy others.
