@@fentanyljones6956deluge is currently the king in this field imo. Not the most portable, or the most sexy, but it has the best workflow of any device I’ve tried (also force, mpc live 2, maschine mk3, and some elektron boxes). Only downside is sound design being a little unintuitive. Would definitely love to see more companies try their hand at a deluge-like.

This is something special. This is menu dive free. Electron and TE learned all they know from Yamaha, Korg and Roland’s hardware. Yamaha sequencers/arrangers/groovebox’s and workstation set the standard for live looping alongside AKAI MPC workflow. Synchronizing Audio and Midi. RS7000?!! This isn’t a gimmick, and I’m guessing it won’t be over priced. This is a game changer. I’m grateful to see Yamaha continually innovating and reimagining

One could think that they could be working towards becoming a threat to Akai, the Mod X OS has more in common with the current MPC OS than I think most ppl realize. A true competitor in the pad style sampling workstation arena would be a good thing, Akai currently has no reason to offer anything truly amazing because there's nobody that's a serious threat when it comes to courting away their user base. Maschine + I don't feel qualifies as an actual competitor. Same with the SP404mk2.

I loved the Tenori-on , love this too. People need to realize Yamaha has been making groove boxes and small factor synths for years. For those saying this is derived from Teenage engineering, you must have limited knowledge of the sheer types and form factors of Yamaha synths in the past. There’s so much more going on here with the app integration, effects etc … Edit: wow ! 399$ they are going to sell boat loads of this and it will be up there with the SP series and MPC but also democratize visualization and projections.

My wishlist for next Seqtrak firmware update: - Top priority 1: Note-off messages for midi chanels 1 to 7 (drums) should not be ignored but handled as usual (stop of current drum sample playback) - Top priority 2: Incorporate the possibility of changing sounds/programs in one track during pattern playback as recorded (!) program change - If pattern length is increased for a certain track, all midi notes should be copied over from previous pattern to new (empty) bar(s) - There should be an option to copy midi notes from bars (16 steps) to other bars (currently, only pattern / step coyping possible)

Wow it has a fffffff four hour battery life … you can use an op-1 field for 3 hours everyday and charge it once a week and it’s still on 50%.. that boat anchor can fit a Tesla battery! Solid start.

I love the white/orange design and it seems awesome. I'm so glad Yamaha is back in the groovebox market! BUT I've become too old to remember what blinking leds in different colors means and weird key combos do. I need a display. And a brilliant sequencer.. I need an RS8000 🙏 😉

Yeah RS8000 would be awesome. Only Akai and a couple of outliers seem to be making such all-in-one boxes nowadays, though. I doubt we'll ever see something like it.

I am only starting to dig into the details of this device, but don't the supporting apps make things clearer by offering a proper UI?

Exactly, i already have difficulties remembering how to set the alarm on my casio watch, this is a UI nightmare.😅
