This is very helpful!!! Thanks! Best keyboard I have ever owned for the logical design and bread and butter sounds!

Enjoyed this vid. Looks like Yamaha really did well on workflow and intuitive layout on this board. I’m sure there is much compromise on keybed & sound quality. At this price something has to give. Blake, I’d love an honest “player’s” review of the CK61’s keys.

Thanks for the great information from the experts, who show what's under the hood of a CK. I just bought such an instrument used and tested it on myself. What I'm missing... Solo function of individual sounds within a liveset, in addition to split and layer function, key range of all individual sounds within a liveset would make sense, next to the Yamaha CFX, the Bösendorfer would have been a great timbre 🥹, too bad. cp80 sounds cool, with compressor, EQ and FX you can create very nice sounds. The fact that the sounds cannot be switched seamlessly between different livesets should no longer be the case in 2023.

can the three volume sliders be held on screen longer than half a second, not long enough to set volumes finely enough

I am having a hard time seeing what my sound levels are in the live sets on my CK 61. The display window is always only showing the live set settings, but I can't pull up the sound levels unless I move the sound levers, which changes the settings. Is there a way to switch the window display to show the sound levels? My ultimate goal is to balance all the sound across the live sets so that when I switch sets, the sound levels stay relatively the same. I am having the most difficulty with this.

In Ck is there a TAP Time for the delay, or can I only determine the time through a knob?

I heard that Tap tempo can be done by pressing the enter key

I bought the Yamaha CK-88. I LOVE it! But ya know what I CAN'T DO? Find a case that will fit THE MUSIC REST - it's 26" long and will NOT fit in the DEDICATED $449 case! Nor in a Gator case, etc. There is NO case that carries the instrument AND the music rest.

I just got one and still working things out. I know the organ comes from Reface, but it’s being advertised as the same piano sounds as YC. On my listening to it (after owning a YC and CP) they sound different to me. Are they the same sounds or are there aspects that make the sound different? Also, when playing live I had a weird thing. I played Bluetooth audio from my phone to the keyboard as a backing track for live performance. The sound person and an audience member asked me why the backing track sounded so compressed and thin? I know the recording is a good one. Any idea why that might have been or a setting that needs to be adjusted? For example, the on-board eq is great, but is that a master eq and will affect the output of Bluetooth audio? I have a Stagepas 1K and the Bluetooth audio sounds amazing.

Beyond that, for what it is, it is amazing for the price. I am just curious as to why the sounds that I know (CFX, Elec pianos) from CP/YC sounded different to my ears.

Bro, it is a Nord Electro wanna be, but only china made knock off. Probably, the DAC in Bluetooth player has causing this, because of the low specs. Go line in, instead of Bluetooth.

@@Purrrelll bro, it’s also 1/3 the price. For what it is, it’s fantastic. I prefer the action on the CK88 to Nord weighted action too. I don’t expect it to sound exactly like a Nord, but looking for clarity when they say most of the sounds come from YC. I have a StagePas 1K and the Bluetooth audio streaming is amazing, so there can be a simple solution and quality sound too.

You are the one complaining. Now you bragging about it. Pick a side. Oh, we have a saying in our culture, I am not rich enough to buy expensive things. I do know Nords are expensive, but you could by a second hand motif XF, or XS, or Nord Electro 4. Well, you have it, so why not call the customer service and complain to them. It’s your money.

@@Purrrelll i think the saying goes like this: I am not rich enough to be buying cheap things. As far as the nord keyboards go, yes, they’re fantastic devices, but if you’re not exactly drowning in cash (and many musicians aren’t), they’re pretty expensive for what you get. So I am thrilled that some companies at least try to make a comparable product (in terms of features) for a fraction of nord’s price. As far as the independent reviews go, this keyboard is perfectly fine for a stage performing. As is nord. Both have their pros and cons, both have limits as well. All in all, don’t buy nord unless you really know what you’re going to use it for. Or if you’re rich af.
