I am trying to use gig performer with my CK 88. However the sliders don’t send any midi, and the majority of buttons also do not send midi, either thru learn or manual entry of control changes. I don’t know if there are settings such as you described in the video that I am not setting correctly, but I believe I have followed your tutorial. However, you didn’t explain how you got the sliders to control your virtual instrument, because I cannot, no matter what I try. I hope you can help, or I will be unable to use gig performer or any similar program with the CK, and I need this to work if at all possible. Thank you.

These TECH TALKs are extremely helpful, thank you. Can you help with the following problem I'm having? Model: CK88 Voice Processor: TC Helicon Perform VK Keys: CK88 to Perform VK connected via 5-pin DIN When changing from one Live Set Sound File to another on the CK88, it alters the settings on the Perform VK (implementing the 'HIT' function). I have discovered that it only happens when the Live Set Sound File has a 'Part B' assigned. The Perform VK settings are not affected when the Live Set Sound File has 'Part A only' or 'Part A and Part C' only. I believe the Perform VK is possibly responding to channel 21 or 28. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this would be much appreciated.

I got this 2 days ago. Didn't think much about it at first- Boxy sounding. Going through QSC CP12s. Ya just gotta spend some time with it, after spending some time with these guys. Got it going on now. I play some really small venues. I worked for half a day with the internal speaker- gain, eq, etc. This thing is playable through the speaks in small areas - including the mic. Pretty impressive.

hi Blake, recently I bought the CK 61 i love the mobility and sounds of it. I am having a hard time with the U1 sample. it feels like there is not enough polyphony to have the sound carrie through. when i blend 2 pianos the U1 starts cutting out abruptly. i have no effects apply at all and it does it. i though it could be a cutoff or other effects applied on the U1. but there is non i tried to trouble shoot and read the manual. i dont have a clear reasoning why it is happening. its A+ . I WISH it had seamless transition and the piano samples would not cut out when using more than one piano sound. is there a firmware update i need to upload into my board ?

The drawbars, faders and keys can send midi-signals, which is great, but I cant find any BUTTONS, that send MIDI-Signals. Is it impossible?

On page 31 of the Owner's Manual it is stated that various functions can be assigned to the Mod Wheel (Mod Wheel Assign). Among these functions is that of assigning control of the USB Audio Volume (USB Audio Volume). I can't get that to work. Having selected a Live Set Sound I enter: SETTINGS / CONTROLLERS / MOD WHEEL ASSIGN and select USB AUDIO VOLUME. That doesn't work because even if you move the MOD WHEEL the volume of the USB audio remains the same. I am doing something wrong? How to proceed? Thank you so much.

To use the organ sliders as MIDI controllers you need to have an organ preset selected to activate them. Couldn't find any info on this anywhere. Really hoping for an update with more mod wheel destinations and also make the filter cut off go all the way to zero, the ones in the effects do but not the dedicated one.

A Live Set Sound consists of 3 layers (part A) (part B) (part C). Each of these parts contains modifiers of various types. Some lengthen the sound such as, for example, the Delay, the Resonance, the Reverberation, etc. It happens that if I'm playing (Part A) and I want to go on to play (Part B), at the moment I turn off (Part A) the sound of this part is abruptly cut off. What in a live performance is very ugly. any way to fix it?

When I make live music, I also want to be able to play with enough space for my hands. 61 keys on such a light weight keyboard are not ideal. I can already see the bowl shaking on all sides. And I have to frantically play small. Too bad the sound is very good but the keyboard is too small. I'll go for the 88 if it also has a light touch, otherwise I'll continue looking.

Ist ja alles sehr interessant, aber wann gibt es endlich neue Produkte von Yamaha! Z.B.einen Ersatz für die "uralten" MX-Produkte? In Sachen Produktvielfalt ist Roland um Welten voraus. Yamaha ist halt immer noch in erster Linie ein Hersteller von "mechanischen Instrumenten" und deren Management hat anscheinend diese Entwicklung falsch eingeschätzt oder absichtlich wegen diverser interner Boni-Regeln an sich vorübergehen lassen - ich habe das damals erlebt bei den äußerst erfolgreichen Technics-Keyboards, die seinerzeit vom Management der Matsushita electric Works (heute Panasonic) genau aus diesen Gründen "abgewürgt" wurden - schade drum!
