The landmine thing you see is actually magazines for her flighdeck gun (yes trust me her weapon is a fucking thompson with the flight deck on it that shoot planes). The other detail is hair accessories, sara wears a funnel-shaped hair cap because it represent the exhaust funnel on the real ship.
