Just to clarify something, Yamamoto talking shit and not ending the fight as soon as possible is intended. There is the fact that he's being arrogant, ofc he will be, he knows how strong he is and he knows he can't show his weak side to the enemy... but most importantly, it's because of anger. His squad got obliterated, his soul reapers got massacred, even his right and left hand man got killed. It's basically the start of the fight. The other characters keeps reminding us too how angry Yamamoto was, to the point that even one of the 'old' captain Shinji never saw him this angry before... tldr; like what Yamamoto said after he sliced his enemy's sword, he doesn't just intend to defeat them, but crush their body, soul, weapon, spirit, etc. To do that, he needs for his enemy to go all out and counter all of them with overwhelming force, while also trash talking them kekw.

If you actually paid special attention during the flashback, you would have remembered that the Soul Reapers asked before they started smoking every Quincy they saw. They asked them to stop killing Hollows because reasons(these reasons are stated during the flashback) but they refused then proceded to get smoked. Think of it as hollows are virus to them so they kill them, but their powers can only eradicate them which can make an imbalance in the world of the living and the dead, but it's their only way for survival. There's no right or wrong between the two, it's a war. Shinigamis kill Quincies because they cause imbalance in earth, while quincies kill hollows so the quincy race won't be erdicated from these poisons.

Ok heisuten,so the thing is that the Quincy extermination Operation was carried out 1000 years ago but all the quincies weren't killed apparently,so 200 years ago from the present, the soul society decided to launch an attack planning to put an end to the quincies once and for all but through that only ryuken(ishida's dad) ishida's teacher/grandfather and ishida survived. Note : this is all assumptions and i haven't read the manga so what i said may or may not be true.

We don't know how ishida's family survived! But everything about the quincy is in the serie, till Aizen got m... in the SS arc. The quincy's were supposed to be the big antagonist/ It's why the SS was always painted as something dark and unjust. Then TK had the brilliant idea to ressucitate Aizen and make him a mid tier vilain. A great idea he couldn't execute well. All we know about the quincies are from the SS side! Not a single quincy has so far talked about it. Ishida has been kept in the dark.

I've so many awful comments about the latest episode. You guys seriously need to read the manga, the schrift "Y" of Lloyd completely copies the person's personality, powers and abilities. That's why Kenpachi was easily defeated. Even his second in command (Haschwalt) and the one who's closest to him didn't even recognize that it was s fake Ywach. Quick explanation for what’s up with Royd Lloyd since they maybe cutting the flashback from the manga: Royd Lloyd and Lloyd Lloyd are identical twins that are Sternritter and have inverse abilities. Both can copy the appearances of people, but Royd can only copy the memories and personality of the person he copies, hence the Schrift “The Yourself”, whereas Lloyd can copy the powers and techniques of the person he copies. So basically this fight was actually Royd fighting Yama, which is fucking wild that a Sternritter was able to keep up with an incredibly pissed off Head Captain for so long.

Yhwach seems to be really afraid of yamaji... The entire point of the first two invasions was to emotionally, mentally and physically break yama.... In the first invasion, over a 100 members of squad 1 were killed, including sasakibe, which deeply affects yamaji, makes him full of guilt and regret, breaking him mentally and emotionally... We see the result of it in the second invasion when yama rushes to the front line due to his clouded judgement, and moment he sees yhwach, he makes a swing with shikai, and then straight up goes to bankai...and uses every single ability, to kill yhwach as brutally as possible, and make him feel the pain that yama felt sasakibe died by suing South... Yamaji had constantly try to suppress his power in bankai as it was about to destroy soul society.... When yamaji turns off his bankai, it was pretty obvious that he was tired, basically now along with being emotionally and mentally, now yamaji is broken physically as well... At last, yhwach blows up 1st company barracks and appears in front of yama, putting yama in state of shock and then he steals his bankai. yhwach had to plan for centuries to beat yama. What an absolute beast.

If he could have beaten yamaji, he wouldn't have needed to make a multi layered plan to break yamaji emotionally, mentally and physical and set up a decoy before facing him. The war potentials are the people who can single handedly change the tide of the war... The true war starts after the defeat of yamamoto as yamamoto is the first MAJOR OBSTACLE in yhwach's way.... Yhwach was literally afraid of taking on yamamoto head on... The entire bankai stealing stuff was also specifically to counter yamamoto as he feared yamaji's bankai... Yhwach even states that he knew that the SS will manage to get the bankai back, so the only purpose the medallion serve is on taking out yamamoto. It's makes sense narratively too... After all It is clearly stated in the manga that the quincy king will get his power back, it didn't says he will get stronger.... the mere fact that yama with a weaker bankai, and without showing every power of his bankai was stronger than yhwach basically proves that yama is significantly stronger than base yhwach....

Yet Loyd, the one Kenpachi beat, copies a person's power while Royd merely copies their personality and memories. So if Kenpachi beat Loyd so easily despite powering up how exactly does it make sense for Royd, who is the same strength as Loyd, to beat Kenpachi so thoroughly? The only answer that makes sense is Yhwach gave Royd some of his power, which is an ability Yhwach has.
