I neither liked nor disliked Aizen, he was Okay for me, but with the time pass, I seem to enjoy him as a villain, and I just love the vibe he gave out to Ychwach that: (He's still the main Bleach villain, don't get in my way). When I rewatched the final battle between Ichigo and Aizen, it really came off as interesting when Ichigo told Urahara, that Aizen just wanted to be the strongest, and have an opponent that would match his power. ''It must be sad to be this strong and feel so lonely in this world''. Something like that was said by Ichigo after the fight, and that kinda spoke to me. Aizen malicious evildoer felt more human-like, that his motives had a reasoning, he sought someone who would be an equal in power, so he wouldn't be lonely in this world. I think that is a fascinating motive, since when you think about it, it must feel horrible when you're the best and there's nothing to improve on, you're just sitting at the top alone, looking deep into your dark hollow soul. Best episode ever. I love the expanded context and atmosphere. I think the jump cut of the sternritter seemingly being burnt is intentionally jarring because they’ll flash back to it later to show the swap. I do wish there was SOME forshadowing with the swap. Just showing that Royd was clearly alive would be enough. The swap happens when the sternritter attack and showing that Royd is alive before they jump yama would’ve made it clear in hindsight without being too revealing, I think. Apart from that. HOLY SHIT. Amazing. I probably won’t care once they do the flashback to clear it up but adding some foreshadowing would definitely make it seem more fluid.

I love that the anime is cutting down some fat. The manga arc was 206 chapters. If each of these episodes adapts 4-5 chapters, then the original source material will be covered on 42-47 episodes. That leaves about 5-10 full episodes worth of new scenes( backstories, bankais, extended fights)that can be included to reach the 52 episodes that we were promised. The narrative is a little rushed at times, but I would rather them rush the first invasion in order to give everything more time later. The best fights are still yet to come.

Something that's not being drawn enough attention to is that each cardinal position has a very unique visual style to it, just compare the surreal and uncanny CGI of South to the broad and vivid strokes of North, those don't feel like they are from the same anime as they are so different yet they are less than a minute apart. This is actually amazing and is probably my favorite thing about this episode. This episode is the reason I don't give out 10/10 very frequently, because otherwise it would lose it's meaning for occasions like this where it's well and truly deserved and there is no debate to be had

I was wondering after this episode: what if, by saying that Yhwach mercilessly killed his subordinates, Yamamoto meant exactly that? What if the fact that Yhwach literally used transfer of his power, making his subordinates his emergency rations during battle with Yamamoto, is the reason these skeletal remnants are trying to attack him? And I wonder if seeing Yhwach using his own subordinates so sparringly, was the reason Yamamoto decided to reconsider his mentality and began getting softer as a person?

Back then I so, so, so, so much wanted Yamamoto to sacrifice what's left of him in Itto kaso as a final moment of defiance because I was sooooo sad at seeing him lower his sword it honestly felt so tragic, that maybe Yamamoto realized then and there that he failed to avenge his lieutenant, and in that moment stopped fighting.

He knew he was toast the moment his bankai got stolen. He was now facing the real Juha at full power AND with his own bankai also his second in command was there too. There was simply no way. He might have even thought that making Juha activate bankai would speed up SS destruction because of the heat. And at the end of the day, Yama's old, tired and beaten. He accepted his fate and died on his feet. That's commendable
@asellape92702 жыл бұрын
@@PaulXPZ I mean, it is commendable. But part of me wonders why he didn’t even try. The thing people forget about this fight is how nerfed Yama was. Losing an arm is a big deal. YH will mention this arm loss. Urahara explained the wrist/hands is the main channel for reiatsu. And on the physical side never forget Kenpachi infamous TWO HANDS moment. So as crazy as Yama looks here he was massively nerfed. Kubo made this guy TOO STRONG that's why all his main fights have an asterisk next to them with villains having contingencies.

@@MeteoricBurst if the flashback from this episode was any indication, it was night time when Yamamoto and Yhwach fought 1000 years ago. Meaning Yhwach didn't have the Almighty. He either had nothing, or he had the Balance. Then again, it being night time (when Yhwach is possibly at his weakest) might explain why Yhwach seemingly didn't use certain abilities (Blut Vein Anhaben, Sankt Altar, Sankt Bogen, etc), seeing as Yamamoto thought Yhwach would be helpless without his sword and the Royal Guards having no information on Yhwach's abilities other than whatever he used against Yamamoto 1000 years ago and now.
@MeteoricBurst2 жыл бұрын
@@RGA301092 I'm not sure how the mechanics of his powers worked back then. If it's like you said then he should actually have been able to do a lot more. The Balance is a great counter to Yama because he deals out such devastating damage. The manga did strongly imply YH Almighty was weaker then. He only had 4 pupils I think not 6. That's why he sought out Jugram. To help him complete this ability. Jugram's real ability is developing other's powers.

This episode made it clear that practically no one could fight Yama straight up. He wasn't lying when he said that "he is all the protection needed". All villains needed to prepare to deal with him - Azien with wonderweiss and Yhwach literally for hundreds of years tried and found a way to take the shinigami's Trump card and greatest power (bankai). He clearly learnt from the last encounter, so he wasn't stepping to the old man without getting rid of the most destructive and powerful bankai. Anyhow, war is also about strategy as much it is about fire power. Hats off to the Quincy for their preparations and strategic moves. While possessing the most destructive and OP power Yama, you just weren't the main character and would have ended the series too early but justice was indeed done to your bankai. RIP
