I have been playing tank+magic+melee yamato and I really recommended trying it, it has given me very good results, colossus its core for the build.

I'm sure you've seen the 2 -> 1, and 2 -> heavy melee combos, but turns out you can do the same thing with all of your abilities and most item actives (even though some are buggy like etheral shift). For example, you can 2 -> 4, and you will finish your 2 while still being in your 4 transform. For your build in particular, you can also 2 -> restorative locket, and it will trigger during your 2 animation. Not sure how useful that is, but would be cool to see a video from you on any combos you know or come up with!

My approach to the healing nerfs was maxing 3 earlier and buying healing booster instead of spirit lifesteal. Too bad Yamato's base health doesn't scale well so the max health healing from 3 only gets going once you hit multiple people with it. What anti-tank items do you recommend though? I think that despite the nerfs, torment pulse + escalating exposure still seems useful. Should I just get leech and play more bruisery to out sustain them?

i think you really need to max ult before 3 since duration nerfs but i change my playstyle rather than my items more against tanks, crippling headshot can be good but just avoiding them more and playing a lil more range is generally better

I don't like maxing 3 early, honestly. You need 1 max ASAP since it's basically all your damage, and two points in 2 so it actually has any range. You could max 3 after all this, but imo you need the ult maxed ASAP to compensate for the duration nerfs it received

What do you think about berserker and frenzy? They seem kinda useful but can't wrap my head around where to put them in the build coz they don't provide much value to spirit side of things.

@@toku_oku berserker is def p good, can be run over like melee charge but I would def get it late in the tier 2s, since you won’t be taking enough dmg to get a lot of value from it until later in the game. I don’t think frenzy is great unless you’re running full ad but maybe like super mega late game

no but i dont think ti would work very well at all on her, the 40 spirit is nice but if you are running refresher (which you shoudl be) then you are never going to really see much use of the 1400 shield i feel like since they will have so much dmg at that point

Have you tried alchemy fire? I don't think it's necessarily a good item on Yamato, but across multiple characters i've found it to be an excellent farm item.

i doubt it’s better than Torment Pulse in basically any scenario. regardless it’s 3k souls and takes up an active item slot that you now won’t be using for defenses

@@Dyingwood. the 50% weapon damage buff and relatively short cooldown make it pretty decent for speeding up your farming but it provides much more value in actual fights if you're building for your gun since the damage amp is so significant

@@Dyingwood. I've been trying Alchemy fire and Torment Pulse together in order to build Escalating Exposure stacks in fights. Basically, when I get into a position where I want to stand my ground, if they want to duel me in that AOE, they will lose, because between my spells, Torment Pulse, melee spirit proc, mystic shot, and Alchemy fire putting stacks on them, they will have 10 stacks on them within 2 seconds easily. Then they take 50% more physical dmg on top of it, but most times people run from Yamato, and will run out of the fire. It's why I'm experimenting with the item that silences movement, and rushing it in lane. I found Decay being the EE stack builder to be unreliable, and it can only build on 1 person every 45 seconds, so that's why I am running Alchemy Fire. EE may never be a reliable item on Yamato, because of how you have use so much spirit on items that do DoT dmg, because Yamato has no DoT in her kit. I'm considering going spell amp/red hybrid build, but I did that one game and found out that because her wide slash scales so poorly with dmg, that you can't clear waves fast enough, and so Torment Pulse is almost necessary it seems. So because Alchemical Fire and Torment Pulse let me push lanes so fast, I figured I might as well go EE. I honestly haven't found a spirit build on her that doesn't feel gimmicky or unreliable. I see why people go gun build on her, but there is most kill potential early on with spirit build. I dominate lanes by rushing items with spell procs/bursts, not going for gun dmg. That gun dmg fall off range is so brutal with her weapon spread. People will just get away with 1 HP left after my combo, and this doesn't happen when I am doing spirit builds.

This build is actually such garbage. Locket is shit. Just terrible. It gives you a big burst of sustain but requires you to build it up by idling in teamfights, and even then it’s not granting you any extra long term benefits. Since spirit lifesteal is now off the table, Yamato just stinks now. Everyone kills her too quickly, and ult doesn’t help. She doesn’t scale lategame (never really did)
