Yamcha's sweet and a badass people just too much of sheeps to admit it lol. popular people say "Yamcha cringe!" therefore the general public will mimic like a parrot. this isn't even a western fandom thing, Toriyama chose one day "hm yes i will character assassinate this man." and wrote him to cheat on Bulma despite how totally out of character that is. so, even the japanese fandom be beating his ass, it's so stupid. it's completely meanspirited at this point.

It's kind of a headcanon but I like to think that Yamcha did something really small like calling a female character on his TV pretty or something and Bulma took it personally and called it cheating. It's very in-character for her.

Goku choosing Frieza over Yamcha is probably one of the dickest move in the anime history and don't tell me that the Z Fighters needed Frieza's power because they really didn't need him when they have Yamcha and Majin Buu , also The Z Fighters calling Master Roshi instead of Yamcha in Golden Frieza Saga is probably one of the dumbest that Toriyama ever came up with , Master Roshi didn't fight since King Piccolo Saga and even in King Piccolo Saga Roshi didn't even fight , he was just performing the Mafuba so the last time Master Roshi ever fought was against Tien in the 22th Martial Arts Tournament but suddenly in DBS we see him shine to level close to Tien and Krillin and I don't think Delivering Milk , Digging dirt with your hands , and the construction worksite , and swimming can grunt you that much power.

Goku choosing Roshi over Tien is also a dick move. What I mean is as goku started recruting, he thought of Roshi first then Oolong tells him roshi is at Tien's dojo. Goku didn't consider Tien at all until Oolong brought it up

We talk about Yamacha taking L’s but let’s look at his wins: If you count all his on screen fights across the Dragon Ball series he’s actually won far more than he’s lost despite being remembered for the losses. He’s technically the second strongest Earthling despite sporadic training and mentorship . He’s the most successful z-fighter by Earthling standards … He’s a world class baseball player which means he makes good money… the rest of the z fighters haven’t really accomplished anything outside of fighting nor can they really assimilate in the real world… which Yamacha has proved in many ways (blending in the earthling gym for example) The guys legitimately everything you’d want in a friend - funny, chill to hang out with, super loyal etc. Smashed Bulma

Yamcha's spineless and doesn't stand up for himself. If he had any self-respect, he would've left Bulma long ago, instead of being a coward, staying in a toxic relationship and then cheating (which he probably did out of jealousy towards Vegeta).

Yamcha didn't actually lose in that fight with the saibaman, it was an ambush kamikaze. Vegeta gets his ass kicked by most of the time, yet nobody bats an eye.

There is a Yamcha movie called -z wolf a Yamcha story - in 3 parts -part 1 is out on KZbin . This movie will correct everything about Yamcha and give him the respect he truly deserves something Akira toriyama and his team could not get right till date . Part 1 was awesome -I’d definitely check this out . Also good to see a lot of Yamcha love happening with recent videos on him 😊

And I personally don’t find the joke about him waiting to get invited to the ToP funny, it just felt like another insult to his character, even more so when they invited Roshi both there and in RoF… oh wait, I’m sorry. Roshi got the power of off screen, never mentioned before training so now he is more relevant than Yamcha. Sorry for the small rant but Super’s use of Yamcha was utterly insulting and I had to mention it.

Because I'm fairly sure back then they hadn't talked about him getting off-screen training and he didn't really use any special power outside of his buff form and the Kamehameha... so nothing Yamcha or even Chaozu couldn't have done and better.

The Reason Why Dragon Ball And Naruto Hate it to Characters because they had so much focus on the Main Important Characters and Wasted the Side Characters and Didn't give a Better Character Development. Compared to One Piece that has Many Side Characters in the Story they had a Progress and Character Development in the Story.

I disagree with the Recoome argument. Piccolo had a power boost from 2k to over a million just by fusing with 42k nail, and vegeta went from 30k to over a million. Tien and Yamcha both about 1700 to 40K range makes some sense, plus the Ginyus were fighting kb a gravity dense planet and likely had not adjusted yet.

Tien was always characterized as being much stronger than Yamcha. Tien is the star pupil of the Crane School. Tien was stronger than Goku the first time they met. Yamcha has another meta disadvantage in him being a Turtle School martial artist he has a lot of redundancy in move set with Goku and Krillin. With such a huge and always still growing cast the auxiliary characters need a plot relevant use for their special moves. Yamcha does have a really cool personally innovation move but they I guess never thought of a way he could use it advance the plot. It is better than him using it repeatedly and it always failing in practice. Krillin's personal innovation the destructo disk is a great equalizer with great utility that Krillin invented and it always fails when he actually uses it. Shame but that is just the reality of the Z fighters having such a bloated roster.
