I said “Oh, you’ve got a dog! Can I see it? I love dogs but I can’t have one because I work too much.” No kidding, I end up getting to meet the dog, chat up a cute girl with a badge, and thirty minutes later she’s like “ Well, I gotta get back to work, you be careful.” Thought about asking for her number but didn’t want to push my luck.

But I will say my unnamed department, actually had a no chase policy on run away motorcycles due to safety reasons. If we really wanted to catch you and the department was willing to use their resources; We can just access the street cameras and follow you home. However that is a lot more effort then most departments are willing to go. Hope that helps! I wouldn’t suggest running…ever. I got out of a ticket with a lady cop. She ran my license and saw that I don't get tickets, so she didn't give me a ticket. Funny how that works.

The only time I can remember getting pulled over by a "lady cop" I didn't get a ticket. There is of course a way to almost guarantee you will not get any traffic tickets, but most riders don't seem interested in that particular technique.

I have numerous friends who are Michigan state police officers and they all say that if they pull a motorcycle over for going a little too fast but the rider is wearing the proper gear they all tend to go easy on them but if the riding is out in a tank top, shorts, and tennis shoes with a skull cap or no helmet they all throw the book at them. So wear your gear and they tend to go easier on you

Back in the early 70's I got caught in heavy traffic headed into LA. I was on an old Honda 305 dream, Motor cop pulled up beside me asked where I was headed. I told him I was heading into take my physical for the AF. He smiled and said follow me and hit his lights and siren and drove the right edge of the freeway all the way to my exit at which point he killed the lights and siren and waved me on my way. Best cop encounter I ever had. Instead of being there late I was a half hour early.

Pro tip: The best traffic stop is the one that doesn't happen/you're not involved in. Stay safe. Ride safe. Better to take it easy than end up as a red smear across the highway or a person shaped imprint on a tree.

Growing up we had a older female officer and was the D.A.R.E instructor when that was a thing. Atv riding is very frowned upon because the older adults used to bitch about them being loud and all the officers were on a mission to ticket and impound as many riders and atv they could. I started riding around 11 or so and Officer Colet was the only cop I could ride by and wouldn't have to worry if i'm going to try to run or not. She would just smile and wave and told me she would rather see me out riding a four wheel having fun then raising hell and smoking weed. Even though I raised hell and smoked weed but she didn't know that lol. Wish there was more cops like her instead of looking at kids as a income for the city and ruined most kids life's from dumb mistakes before they were even adults.

There's 3 more types of cops, but you're only likely to run into them if you're on a KZ1000-P. The Nostalgia Goggles: This is an older cop that not only used to be a motor unit (or perhaps still is), but used to ride a KZ1000-P and he just wants to talk shop. In fact, he might have pulled you over just to reminisce about them and tell you about how much he hated when they switched over to Harleys. The Retro Goggles: This is a younger cop, most likely a motor unit on a Harley who's heard from the older guys about how much better the KZ1000P is. The Angry Scrutinizer: He scrutinizes every detail of the bike. The two tone black and white paint job, the gold stars on the tank, looks for letting identifying it as a police vehicle and may even have an attitude about the word "police" being written on the VIN plate. If you have emergency equipment on it like lights or a siren speaker, he'll want to make sure the lights are a legal color and flash in a legal way, and that the siren doesn't make any siren noises. You might be able to get away with an Ecto-1 horn, but you'll probably get away with it if you have it set up to play Bad Boys when the siren switch is flipped. but chances are, if it works at all, he's gonna impound the bike or physically damage it by violently confiscating the equipment. It's almost always the two goggles types... The angry scrutinizer tends to be fairly rare and they probably known to be the least chill officer in the department.

The real question is, is there a list video YammieNoob can't make?
@paullypaulfd30155 жыл бұрын
Yam! You forgot one kind of cop: They exist solely to kill fun wherever it stands, they are even below rookies, they exist in highly specific pockets around the country; the Campus PD cop. They’ve just recently found out they can give tickets and will stop at nothing to wield them. Like a psychopath-to-be 11 year old does to spiders, they will try to pick you apart before smashing you; with a ticket that often exaggerates what you actually did. And if you thought you could woo this guy out of your ticket, you’re out of luck cause here comes one of his buddies, showing up in a separate squad car; hopping out with a visible, and probably blatant erection because he heard the call over the radio and just couldn’t help himself. He needed in on the action. Just when you think this Eiffel Towering couldn’t get any worse, here comes the Lady Campus PD, and two more squad cars. Is this the whole department? They heard a bike got pulled over. One of them will comment on your ride. Is this the end? They stand with arms crossed and licking their lips as if you’re about to be the center of their Eyes Wide Shut fantasy. As you pull away after receiving a hefty notice to appear, you glance in your mirror at the group of 8+ boys in blue. You see them slap each others asses in congratulations. And now you’ve got student loans, finals, and a point against your license hanging over your head.

The only time i got pulled over (I was in my 2018 Focus ST), I accidentally launched my car in front of a car at a stop light and of course I instantly got pulled over. The instance goes as following; 1. He pulls me over and walks up to my car 2. I already have the car off, windows down, and hands on the steering wheel 3. Before he even says anything, I spit out some bullshit of trying to get ahead of somebody so I can make a turn 4. He tells to drive slow and simply lets me go... Now mind you, this guys was in his 20s so this video is not 100% accurate lol

Know the law in your state, ask for the county seat, subpoena the cop's video, change the court date, appeal if sentenced. The advantage of being retired, having a copy of Nolo Press "Fight Your Ticket" and enjoying sparring in the court system.

If you’re not a typical jerk, if you don’t make too much noise, if you don’t sprain the law, cops won’t bother you. I have over 700,000 miles behind bars.. never been stopped by a policeman/even at DUI checkpoints, which I have ridden thru two of them, they just waved me past.. wonder why? because I wear protective gear,leather jacket, leather gloves with fingers,motorcycle boots ,full face helmet, I leave my stock quiet exhaust alone, I don’t try to make noise. I am not a biker, I am a motorcyclist..There is a difference. when I travel cross-country on the interstate, I generally travel between 60 and 80 miles an hour,i pass lots of police. Just don’t speed through construction zones or through built up congested areas within city limits.. when you call attention to yourself with noise, speed, just general obnoxiousness, don’t be surprised when you are screaming for attention,that you get some..
@hvymtal85665 жыл бұрын
Being stopped by a motorcycle cop can go both ways. If it's a lighter offense like speeding or local traffic ordnance (filtering when not legal etc), they'll probably be super chill and give you a mental nudge. If you're being an idiot and you know it, especially riding recklessly, you're screwed. They have no patience for willful idiots given the damage said idiots do to the public perception of the rest of us. Especially beware the ones who don't wave; if they're in a bad mood or for some reason believe strongly in motorcycle tribalism and you're not part of their tribe (Harleys, most often), you're screwed Most importantly, be humble and honest about mistakes and transgressions. By the nature of their work they most often deal with people who are 1. Liars, often bad liars, 2. Totally full of themselves, and 3. Potentially quite dangerous. Genuine humility may get you some brownie points, and at the very least it will certainly not make things worse, and the self-evaluation will help you avoid this problem in the future. Also, if practical, make it as obvious as possible you're going nowhere once stopped; hazards or curbside indicator, sidestand, ignition, lid, gloves, show and put keys in pocket, preferably in such a manner that they can see it. In places with relatively high violent crime, keep your hands where they can be seen; resting on the backseat works for me
