Contrary to Yammie I see a lot of positives: - It actually runs out of the box. - It almost tracks straight out of the box. - It doesn't lose parts while you're driving it. That's already a lot of positives for a Chinese bike. The sad thing is that with a little more effort this bike could have been so much better, as all the basics seem to be there.

If they copied a twin of some kind it would definitely rev a lot higher
@tjroelsma Жыл бұрын
@@toddwebb7521 Yes, but for some reason they chose to mount a single cylinder engine instead. It could well be that this is an engine they're already using in scooters or other bikes and they just decided to use it instead of developing a twin. That being said: with modern technology you can do much better with a small single cylinder engine than this bike does. This looks like the engine is either old tech or simply low tech that's been mounted in a bike that blings it up to make it look like a modern machine.

Except for the engine build quality. Granted its a honda clone, but the material and tolerances are often way off. Is the speedo set to KPH instead of MPH? that might be your discrepancy right there!
@fattslapper1819 Жыл бұрын
Yes! It’s set to kph! I just bought 2 boom vaders, both had to be changed in the settings. It takes 2 seconds lol

Oh don't get me wrong, I still think it's an absolute crap bike, I just think he MIGHT be going a bit too hard in the paint on that 1 point. I'm totally open to the idea that the speedo is just way off too. I'd avoid one of these like the plague. Same goes for any other pos China bike.

Does it have a catalytic converter? A non-existent or non-functional cat often results in a funky smelling exhaust. I think you're wrong about the typo on the safety label - "downer" manual seems right.

I’m 16 and really want a bike but on a tight budget. I found a venom x22 on Facebook for 1.2k. Considering my age, budget and the fact I’ve never rode a motorcycle, should I take the chance or is it not worth it? I would really appreciate your input yammie 🙏

Tbh I was never planning on using this bike to drive anywhere over 5 miles only in town where the speed limit is 40mph. I just want something I can buy for less that $3,000 and throw away after 6 months. I just don’t wanna buy a $9,000 bike that I don’t know how to shift gears on and not sure if I’m even a fan of riding. If not something like this could you pls recommend me a bike that is most importantly safer than this hunk of junk and learner friendly. I’m just scared of gunning the throttle on an expensive bike and losing control and crashing 😂😂
@nerychristian Жыл бұрын
Why would you want to waste $3000 on this junk? Then after a few months, when it breaks down, do you think anyone is going to buy it from you? What if you decide you do like to ride? You'll have to spend another 6k to get a real bike.

I bought a Zongshen 400cc from CSC motorcycles in California as my first bike a year ago. Not a bad bike, runs great except the first time I hit 79mph something happened and the top speed is barely 65 right now. Still runs great, but it's very slow and I don't know what else to change. Parked it and bought a Ducati supersport.

If I had money to burn, I'd just do some crazy shit with one of these bikes, just for the fuck of it.

I'd never buy one. But if someone gave me one, it might be worth spending a little for some random parts bike, start bolting used parts onto this new chassis, and try to make something trackable out of it.

You're comparing this to 3,500 used Japanese bikes. This is not 3500 bike. You are not comparing apples to apples. This is a brand new $3,000 bike. You would still have to pay tax title and all the other fees on a used 3500 Japanese bike bringing the cost up over 4K. I hate it when people make these comparisons this is a brand new bike shipped to your door without the hassle of a salesman. I purchased a dual sport through venom Motorsports and found them to be quite accommodating and quick on shipping. I was not hassled and the bike I received I believe was well within the quality that I expected.
@nerychristian Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but you are forgetting one thing. This cheap bike will not last you very long. You'll be lucky to get a year out of it. And when it breaks down, good luck trying to sell it. Better off buying a slightly used entry level Japanese bike, with low miles on it and clean condition. Those bikes will last you several years.

I got a bike from that company, 2022 venom z250cc. Been riding to and fro from work for over a year, still runs with ease. It's not fast, but 70 mph (I'm a bit too heavy to max out the 95mph) is fast enough for the small town I live in. Its manual too.

Yeah sounds about right. I had a rip off of the Honda 250R. From new it needed a new chain, head stem bearing, tyres, clutch cable. Every bolt would vibrate loose. Run in was so important and needed maybe 5 200mi oil changes before it was ready.
