This video is what convinced me to go with the c5. Not a concert instrument by and means but definately worth every penny!

Amazing what an accomplished player can do with an inexpensive instrument...goes to prove it's more beneficial to invest time in your instrument than money (up to a certain point). Thanks again Tavi!
@TaviJinariuGuitarist10 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeff. I often get complimented on and asked what guitars I play after a concert. People seem to get quite frustrated when I tell them that I just played an entire concert on a $500 guitar made in China. The guitar is a tool and when the tool works well the pedigree is insignificant.

TaviJinariuGuitarist ....you, and Andrew York could play a piece of firewood with strings on it, and make it sound good!!! imho LOL
@fingerhorn49 жыл бұрын
+TaviJinariuGuitarist Hi Tavi. Could you please say whether this model, and other Cordoba models, are set up properly "out of the box", with decently low action and reasonably good intonation or do you find you have to tweak them or change the action? So many guitars I have purchased need a whole day at a Luthier to make them playable. Thanks for your excellent demos of guitars.
@jeffhatcher67789 жыл бұрын
+fingerhorn4 I've owned 3 cordoba guitars, and they are pretty good out of the box.... but it is not uncommon or unexpected to require a little setup work on these factory guitars. From my experience, the only one I needed to work on was my GK Studio Negra, which just needed an ever-so-slight truss rod adjustment. My C5 and C9 were good from the start though.

SharonGuitar500 have you gotten the Guitar yet? how does it sound in person?
@SharonGuitar5009 жыл бұрын
Daniel Gomez I did. It's the best guitar for the price, that's for sure, but the C7 is significantly better (I also have a C7, but not with me). In terms of sound quality, it's decent. Most guitars at this price range are mostly the same, but the Cordobas offer amazing playability, and they don't look or feel cheap. It's the best sounding guitar you can get for the price, but I don't think it can serve as more than a student or beater guitar. If you can afford it, I'd get the C7, it's worth it.

@fingerhorn47 жыл бұрын
I bought a C5 in London and it does sound great. But the manufacturer had not even bothered to blunt the fret ends which were so dangerously sharp that I immediately cut my finger. I had to spend a day carefully filing sharp ends to make them safe. This is very poor quality control which I hope Cordoba addresses. Apart from that it has proven a great guitar for the price.

Tavi, I purchased this guitar based on your beautiful demonstration and learned to play this song. It took about 3 months of practice. But can you tell me why you don’t play the middle part of the song? I listened to York’s version and I’ve trying to decide if it’s worth the trouble to learn the rest of the song. I kind of like it without the middle part. I just wanted your opinion, since you inspired me in the first place. Thank you for sharing your talent!

Do you think there is anyway we can get this or any other Andrew York pieces (Home) on our Elite Guitarist website? Or does licensing make it impossible?
