True but I don’t agree with “hidden” part. He had the highest scores, technically very good and has a beautiful voice but i-land didn’t show him in spotlights as much as popular trainees, so people didn’t really give attention to him till the end. He was not hidden, people ignored him blindly. 😭

yes maybe its because he had experienced two close eliminations which pushed him harder, also not to mention unlike the other members that was popular with fans during i-land era he didnt had that big fan support to back him up. in his shoes he probably thought he had no one but himself to rely on at that time. im still glad he had the chance to read edens letter that one ep, at least he knows his not alone and have edens. im sure the other trainess/members also had their own hardships in i-land. thats why forever eggies and now engene✊

Yeah, I feel you. Although he wasn’t my first pick, I really panicked during those time. I remember that I voted for him though I have to vote for our ace also. I alternately voted for the two of them until the end. In the final, when our ace got lower rank, I was a bit sad and disappointed knowing that I didn’t focused in him but when Jungwon was announced that he got the first place, and will debut together with Hee, I was relieved and happy.

I’m proud to witness and be part of his journey. I AM CRYING 😭 I-land was a bittersweet memory. Those who watched the show knew how underrated Jungwon was despite everything he had shown and that frustrated me. Then ep 10&11 happened it was so heartbreaking, I don’t want to go through that again. After that I promise to work hard and make him feel that he deserve a spot. Creating multiple accounts and voting for him everyday was worth it because he didnt just made it to the line up but he also ranked 1st. And now he is the LEADER of Enhypen. I swell with pride♥️

Jungwon is really sooooooo underrated since I-Land era. I feel irritated at that point too. Like it's almost every episode, just a few dare to talk about him at I-LAND Weverse. I only have one account to vote for him at Weverse but I did my best to influence others to vote. Episode 10 and 11 were really a heartbreaking moments. And then Episode 12 when I feel elated when Jungwon was complimented by his role model JK, got rank 1st place by global votes, debuted in ENHYPEN, and became the leader of ENHYPEN. He has achieved a lot since Pre-debut I-Land era and I wish that more people would recognize him. I feel bad for those who hate or never liked Jungwon. I also feel bad to those who never stan Jungwon. He's got everything that I'm looking for an idol I like. I like him. I love him. And he will forever be my bias at ENHYPEN ever since I-Land era.

When he was almost eliminated I was panicking and was very anxious, I cried so hard that time because he's one of my biases and I was really really rooting for him since Episode 1. I was relieved when he wasn't eliminated and after that, I created multiple accounts to vote for him every day too and now we're finally here. He ranked first and is now the leader, I could not imagine Enhypen without Yang Jungwon, he is truly the hidden ace and now he has all the time to show everyone what he's capable of. I'm so proud of him :)).

Jungwon was the trainee on iland who won me over on episode 1 because of his skill. Not saying other trainees are not talented but because mnet only showed us their interviews before the show started, I got drawn to most trainees because of their personalities (Daniel, Sunoo), or how unique their visuals were (Sunghoon, Jake), and their background/ which company they came from (Bihit trio). Heeseung in particular, because everyone hyped him up, I knew what to expect and I got it, he served what I expected (even exceeded it tbh). On the other hand, you have Jungwon. Jungwon for me then was just "one of the trainees" but after episode 1, damn. I swerved real bad and after "yeah I'm scared", I knew I needed to support him. I have a thing for really good singers so... Edens will relate with me on this: Jungwon's journey was a rollercoaster ride. We never knew what to expect. He ranked high on one test, then low on the other. We were specifically worried about the voting, always on the edge of our seats because even though everyone acknowledged his skills, his unique vocal color, and his sharp and clean dance moves, that wasn't enough to convince them to vote for him. Ofc we get it. They had their own faves to support too anyway but just fyi, these are the reasons we voted for Jungwon aside from his skills: 1. He's humble. He's humble in the sense that whenever complimented, he always downplays it. He just smiles, gives a simple thank you, and that's it. This is something even more noticeable now that he's Enhypen. Whenever other members say something good about him, I always notice that he keeps quiet or if not that, say something about other members so that people will divert their attention to "that" members. It's like his way of saying, "No, my talent/skill's not that important because even this member has it" and the way he does this is so subtle and smooth that even fans don't notice it. When you watch their vlives, reaction videos, and radio appearance, you can see ow he does it. 2. He's mature and level-headed. Might be an athlete's thing but he was one of the few people on iland who, regardless of being on the side of "the known trainees", was unproblematic and drama-free. He knows when to listen and when to shut up. During the Heeseung-K thingy, he was the one who encouraged and directly told Heeseung to just tell K what they wanted to say. He wanted the uncomfortable-ness of the team to be solved right away so that they could practice right away. He kind of looked annoyed at one point. He even has great control of himself and his emotions, which I think really is one of the main reasons he was selected leader. 3. He's smart and has a good grasp of other people's moods and the environment, which makes him a good team player.

Jungwon for me was the trainee on iland who won me over on episode 1 because of his skill.- THIS. I never knew I was looking for this comment till I saw it. Here is the thing. No one really expected much from Jungwon initially. His first impressions admittedly are not the most impactful, especially personality-wise. But like you, when I saw his performance in All I want to do, I immediately knew who to stan. He was so good. Also, when he sung his line in Into the I-Land, I thought, if this guy doesn't get first, this show is rigged. He was the only trainee who literally sung very well + also danced very well. He set the initial standard. I'll focus on his singing. Fun fact: If you did not know, he was the only member who supported his notes. Not that the rest of the members were bad but none of them supported (except maybe Heeseung but it wasn't clear enough until later). Basically, he had the best vocal technique among them. I could totally believe he was an SM trainee simply because from the technical point of view, he was simply the best singer. Period. He had a sense of support and he didn't strain at all in most of his mid range. His projection was great as well, surprising considering his nasal placement. His tonality was well produced, and basics such as timing and phrasing were done at a good level. Right now Heeseung is the unofficial Main Vocalist of Enhypen and rightfully so, Heeseung is better than him in other areas of his voice such as agility and falsetto. However, Jungwon greatly compliments Heeseung with his unmatched mixed register and breath support. I would personally put him as the second main vocalist simply because their skill is on a very similar level. He was the only trainee to get first 3 times. He also had special mention in I Need U where he got 2nd and Flicker, where he was mentioned. This shows that not only he has shown good skill, but can apply it and make a great performance. This makes him an Ace. When you are talking about skill in Enhypen, Yang Jungwon is the first name that comes to mind. All of them are talented, yes. No doubt. They are brimming with potential. Yes. But skill-wise? Especially for Vocal skill, Jungwon and Heeseung are on the top of the group. There is no competition. Arguably, because Heeseung does stylistic choices that make him inconsistent, it can even be argued that Jungwon would be the better singer if his upper range was not as developed. Anyways, Skill is Yang Jungwon's middle name. He is montrous in terms of the potential he holds. His age is a massive advantage. He is only 17 now. When Seohyun of GG debuted, she was about the same age. Back then she only about top 6 in vocals. But she became the 3rd best after years of improvement. She had the time. Jungwon also has the time. But he is already the second best in the group. What more with time? Not to mention his insane potential with dancing. Professional dancers from both youtube and reddit have said that Jungwon's technique is only second to Niki. Both Niki and Jungwon have so much potential. Niki is a genius who has been dancing since he was 5. But Jungwon is a different story. He was meant to be an athlete when he grew up. But he quit to become an idol. He has only danced for about 2 years. But he is already this good? That is scary when you think about it. Niki had time to hone and perfect his craft, which is why he is professional at 15. But Jungwon is not too far off and he only danced for what, 2 years? People will see Jungwon in the future. Mark my words. Thanks for your comment, have a great day. You made mine.

Jungwon might not be stylish(?) or trendy with the way he sings but he IS a technical vocalist who seems to focus more on technicalities than "sounding good". Not that he doesn't sound good (his unique vocal color def helps) but yk what I mean. However, I think, in a way, Jungwon being technical is also a problem(?) Well, this is just my totally unsolicited opinion u don't have to agree) but I think Jungwon's too on-the-book sometimes? I actually can't believe I'm saying this cos I'm someone who judges singers on how right they can sing rather than how good they sound like but well, Jungwon's different. Jungwon sings and hits notes perfectly, he dances perfectly with the right amount of energy, and he has stage presence and charisma. He's, just as you said, skilled. He's the "perfect idol". But, there are a lot of "perfect idols" in the industry. Not that I see kpop as a competition but I think I really just want to see Jungwon be SEEN. I want ppl to acknowledge that that kid is dangerous. But yeah, you're right. Jungwon is still young. Ppl will DEFINITELY see him in the future. I think rn, what Jungwon lacks is ambition(? i can't think of a better word). Yes, Jungwon always gives his best but he doesn't really have the urge to stand out or be like "focus to me and only me" when performing. As long as he offered the same energy as the team or he complements what the team lacks, he's already okay with that. I'm not undermining his skill or anything, don't get me wrong. Jungwon IS STILL GOOD no matter what. He is still charismatic and is still a good performer which is crazy cos if he's THAT good now, how MUCH can he really grow? I think the moment Jungwon really wants to be like the others who's like "I want to look cool" or "I want ppl to see my duality" or "I want to be THIS", THEN he really will be unstoppable. I may be over-analyzing but I think that that's Jungwon rn. He STILL doesn't realize how MUCH he has yet to offer. Maybe I'm expecting too much but I KNOW. I just know that if we give Jungwon time, he will GROW soooo much that he'll exceed our expectations. Buuuuut yeah, rn, current Jungwon is also good. He is still one of the best rookies out there despite. He's still one of the best 4th gen "perfect idols" out there in terms of skill and he just debuted?!? Thanks for reading my lengthy comment. Thank you for this long post, people need to read this and appreciate Jungwon more. I wasn’t a fan of Iland before, I was curious about it since IU sang the theme song, and BTS visited the place, and as a person in her mid 20’s, I didn’t have time to watch Iland last year... it’s wasn’t until a “16 year old leader- the youngest in Kpop” was announced, where I became curious about Him and enhypen and Iland. So I started watching some videos, and started to Stan En- eventually. Yang Jungwon: not only that he is an Ace, he has so much potential, he hasn’t unlocked his rapping skill yet, he’s getting better and better at singing, and he’s the best performer live. Besides talent and skills, his character is what stood out for me. He is wise beyond his years. He is cool, calm and collected. It’s not easy to be leader when 5 people are older than you, but he managed to step up. Anyways, this is getting too long, there only one last thing to say... Mark my words, He is going to be the next big thing!

I didnt fully watch I-land but I watched clips and knew I-land and probably waited which of them will debut but Jungwon caught my eye for the first time. So Enhypen finally debuted and I didnt expect to be so obsessed with them, I was so hyped up with Jungwon ever since before enhypen happened, but once again, i didn't watch i-land, I adored him, and i was also wondering why isn't he the talk of the town? He's hella charismatic, has a great voice, a great dancer, and before I really decided to get to catch up with i-land (So I knew what was going on before because... i'm so hooked on enhypen now) like why was he so underrated??? He's literally an ace too!!! But now he's debuted and is A LEADER of the group. Show the world Jungwon, show them how amazing you are❤️

I agree. In their first album, even if he didn't get to show his amazing vocals that much, he's still noticeable. I'm already looking forward to their comeback and hoping he gets more of the important lines cuz his voice is so unique, the quality, I mean if you listen to his part on flicker, it's just wooaah. You don't get to hear that similar vibe from other groups, that's why it's unique. I think they did that to capture more attention and suspense to the show. Jungwon has ranked first multiple times and he’s always been high so suddenly putting him on the bottom would make the fans anxious and not be able to predict anything which is a good marketing strategy tbh. notice how jungwon ended up ranking first after suddenly being in the bottom for no reason? Everyone knows hes one of the best applicants/members so nobody expected him to be in trouble, which is how the show makes the fans go crazy lol. yeah its a little unfair because it made jungwon not even expect to debut but hey, a show is a show am i right

If you're familiar with the "Garden of Eden" which is a biblical phrase that means "paradise" in Bible, that's where we got the "Eden" fandon name for Jungwon. It's also most likely be read as "Jungwon of Eden" just a translation of "Garden of Eden". 2. Since "Eden" came from the "Garden of Eden" which is a paradise from the bible, a place where we could distinguish what's right and wrong. Which means we Jungwon stans should know what's right or wrong and don't ever get in trouble with other fandoms of I-Land trainees. This is also the main reason why Jungwon's fandom was very peaceful and doesn't engage with fanwars unless other fandoms would say something mean to Jungwon and we defend him in a logical and good way. Jungwon is known to being the trainee with most emojis used by fans either be a sheep, bunny, and chipmunk emoji during I-Land era. The cat emoji was used after Jungwon's official emoji was announced as "cat". Jungwon was also known to have lots of fandom names so we had a poll on that before. 1. Carrots - because he was known for his bunny teeth and visuals. He also has lots of bunny memes with snowball bunny. 2. Jungwonderful - because his name has "won" and associated with "wonderful" so we fans are his Jungwonderfuls!!! 3. Shepherd - Honestly, I came up with this fandom name before when Jungwon stated that his name means "sheep garden". There's a lot of reasons it meant by the bible. Shepherds are protectors of sheeps. But, I only suggest that around when Eden was already been used frequently so the "Shepherd" wasn't use coz I'm the only one who suggest it but then since "Eden" is cuter to say, I choose "Eden" instead.

"6th place out 11 was high enough, but out of 7, it's quite of low." Struck me right now. Maybe because the first quarter of this school year's ended and we've only been waiting for the results, my grades- and the anxious thoughts of getting a high but not enough grades are getting into my head. When Jungwon said that, I empathize with him. When I say that to my friends, they comfort me by saying "it's okay- it's high you know? I could only dream I get that grades". And I really appreciate their comforting, but the voice in my head says "No, you just don't understand how frustrating it is for me. It's not enough, yes my grades are high but it's never enough yet I still think I don't deserve it." I sound so ungrateful, so nasty so I never got tp say my honest thoughts to them no matter how much I wanna let it out. I just cried watching the video but then it ended with Jungwon debuting and doing greatly right now. I still feel hopeless about myself but at least, I can do better. I can always do better and I shouldn't take the chances for granted.

I watched I-land and didn't really notice him that much since he's very underrated. He's literally the hidden gem/ace. Right now, while supporting Enhypen, and as an Engene, Jungwon really captured my heart completely. I regret I haven't given him a lot of my attention during I-land. I would borrow my sibling's phone everyday including my mom's just so i could vote for him. I don't use weverse back then but i created an account just so i could post about voting for him. I was so desperate to see his smile again. I breaks my heart watching him almost giving up and losing his spirit. I was mad crazy and anxious back then. Oh how i love that kid. I land was a whole journey for Jungwon fans. Fell in love with his voice during into the iland stage, became a fan during his dance stage. We all suffered during the last 2 eps with the fear he was getting eliminated. Then he came 1st place in iland. His growth throughout the whole show was equally amazing as Jake. i just saw this video right now and it brings back everything. jungwon is not the first trainee that caught my eye. when he was picked by K to be saved from going to Ground, I was devastated. However, when they danced to Rainism, i admired him alot. During all the test, he proven how passionate and driven he is. During the global votes, I was sad because jungwon didn't receive high score. Episode 11, i cried so much because i became to afraid of seeing him leave i-land. i know that he deserve to debut. i grew fonder to jungwon while watching part 2 because he's a matured person. i know that i don't want him to leave i-land so i talked to my mom and friends to download weverse and vote for jungwon everyday. i added him to my prayers. during the final test, i became proud of him not only because he ranked 1st but because he didnt disappoint anyone. because of his passion, he became the leader. the youngest leader. jungwon, i am very proud of you. i will always be watching you and will continue to support you. thank you for holding on and for doing your best. keep shining!

Watching this the second time I realized how much Jungwon has grown and how hard working Jungwon was during I-Land he has been through a lot but I'm glad he was strong enough and now he's leading enhypen to become number one! The first time I watch this video was when I started stanning Enhypen but since I didn't know much about Enhypen or Jungwon I didn't realized how much has happen but I'm glad to see him in Enhypen, I also believe he will be a great leader who will do everything to make Enhypen better even if he feels pressure.
