@@madgang201broadly, it’s a gene editing technology (with special programming, it can go in and fix genetic defects without impacting other parts of the genome) that is used in the vertex pharmaceuticals sickle cell disease treatment that was fda approved around the time this skit came out. It is the first fda approved crispr-based therapeutic.

This was my favorite sketch of the episode. Even without a better ending, I thought the idea was great and the performances were too. The whole moment where after the emotional speech about sickle cell, Kenan trades the cure for Boogie Woogie Santa - Kenan at his best. And the audience reaction made it even better. Good work from Punkie too.
