What a bummer to hear that Ricky Henderson passed away. What talent and charisma. His stolen base record will most likely stand unmatched for a long time, if not forever. Ricky, the pride of Oakland. He was also a Yankee in the 80s, among other teams. Don Mattingly said that Henderson was the best player he ever played with. R.I.P. 😪

The Yankees have just solidified the case for why Brian Cashman needs to go as general manager. Their infield was a disaster last season, and rather than addressing that issue head-on, they trade Gleyber Torres and Anthony Rizzo. But instead of pursuing a top-tier first baseman like Walker or Pete Alonso, they go after an aging, past-his-prime Paul Goldschmidt? Really? This move doesn’t improve the team in any meaningful way-it’s basically the same as keeping Rizzo. It’s a poor decision, plain and simple. The Yankees haven’t done anything to actually fix their infield, which has been their biggest problem. Bringing in Goldschmidt doesn’t make them any better than they were last year. It’s more of the same: a team unwilling to make the bold moves needed to truly improve. Meanwhile, their cross-town rivals, the Mets, are making all the right moves and building a competitive roster. As a lifelong Yankee fan, I can’t help but think of what George Steinbrenner would say about this mess-and how disappointed he’d be in his son, who, frankly, doesn’t seem to have the vision or drive to turn this team around. At this point, it’s clear that the Yankees need a new, more motivated owner who’s willing to make the tough calls and get this team back on track. I will not be spending my money on purchasing any Yankee tickets this years. No way they do not deserve my money or any fans money. Lame as moves my lame ass leadership out of touch with what it takes to win
@PinstripeTerritory20 күн бұрын
Just to clarify a few of your points - the Yankees didn't trade Gleyber Torres or Anthony Rizzo - they are both free agents. Gleyber was literally the worst defensive 2B in baseball last year - so not sure how retaining him addresses the issue. Second, Goldschmidt is better than Rizzo - he hit 14 more home runs, and more importantly, he stays on the field, and Rizzo's defense has suffered in recent years - Goldy is a little above league average. The Mets really haven't dont much other than add Soto - you seem pretty upset when it's not really deserved, IMO - the team made the World Series, and has VASTLY improved the pitching staff - their offense is a work in progress. Cheer up.

Not really a fan of an Arenado trade, but honestly it's better than a Bregman signing. Arenado is a better defender with a way better arm. Bregman doesn't hit career wise in the Bronx well at all and Arenado had a better offensive year last year. Arenado is only 3 years and will be less than 30 million where Bregman will be 6-7 years and reeks of Ellsbury 2.0
