The Yankees success in the early part of this season was in large part the result of excellent starting pitching, which has disappeared. They were scoring enough runs per game to win, with Stanton, Judge, Soto, and Volpe producing at a high level and getting unexpected contributions from Canberra and Trevino. Trevino and Cabrera returning to their historical offensive production levels (which is barely major league acceptable), was to be expected. Unfortunately the question marks facing the Yankee Roster entering the season in Rizzo, DJ, Torres, and relief pitching have been coming back all negative. The relief pitching early on was good, but that has also crashed to league worst levels now, in part because they have been over-used because the a starters barely go five innings, and to a large part because they to a man are not strike-out pitchers, but pitch to contact, issue way too many walks, and give up not only singles but home-runs at unacceptable frequencies. This team as constructed isn't winning anything.

@@fernandoposada5440 In 2022 the Yanks got off to a great start, than played .500 ball virtually the entire 2nd half, seems like they didn't;t even make it to the Allstar Break hot. You can not blame injury to a guy that is guaranteed to get injured and stay on the IL for 6-8 weeks every season, as the reason for the teams poor play. The starting pitching has collapsed, going from league best to league worst in the matter of a few weeks. The Yankee bench entering the season was non-existent, with not a single dependable or productive bat off the bench, and that is what has hurt the Yankees. Cashman new that at some time this season or perhaps twice this season Stanton would go i=on the Il for a prolonged stint, but he still had no viable plan to replace him when he invariably went down. Its you believe Michael Kaye and Yankee brass that Dominguez's injury was a devastating blow, tall them to blow it out their behinds, because Dominguez coming back from UCL repair was always going to be a iffy thing, a big question mark, and he wan't going to be available under the best circumstances until July/August, and Stanton with his frail legs, could have been injured in spring training. Stanton now re-injures his Hamstring just walking or jogging.

Spot on, it’s Cashman who has done bad trades for Frank Montas. getting rid of Yankee ace pitcher for Brad Harrison, Joey Gallo, Jameson Tailon and last getting Giancarlo Stanton for such lengthy contracts of over 10 years plus. I've sat through 8 of the Yanks last 10 home games. I only saw 1 win. It was the Ben Rice game, so that was fun. But the rest of the time it's hard to look at that team and see a playoff contender. OTOH, look at the bright side; you can leave a Yanks game early and not miss anything. No need to wait for a dramatic comeback victory.

It’s mostly Hal’s fault for not giving a damn about winning anything except some playoff revenue so it’s always just enough to shut up the fans like getting Soto and calling it an offseason while there is still holes that need to be addressed. He also is to blame for letting Brian Cashman put together such a poorly constructed roster in the first place! Not just financially but there’s no athleticism, No smart base running, no hitting for average, no urgency!! And lastly, the lack of being able to develop any sort of hitting from their farm system over the years. And then hiring a manager with the same temperament and feel for his pitching staff as Mrs Rachel in Aaron Boone. It bleeds from the top-down.

The Mariners did not drive in ANY runs at all. None. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. 0. The Yankees will be fine & get in the playoffs. The Mariners are a bad luck franchise.
