I'm never one to trash a guy for an error....these errors were inexcusable in an elimination World Series game. Judge is looking toward the bag on a can of corn? Why? The play was directly in front of him, the runner was heading back to 1st and there was zero reason to do so. Then he drops it and throws the ball fairly casually back to 2nd base with no ooomph on it. If he puts some mustard on it he probably would have gotten him. Volpe was a big mistake, but it was a bang bang play and it happens. Cole/Rizzo was embarrassing. Cole doesn't cover and points to the bag and Rizzo sees that he is not covering and goes back on his heels and waits for the ball to come to him. Now, I know the ball had some english on it, but u gotta have a sense of urgency when u see what is transpiring and take a shot charging it. Either way, if he fumbles it, the runner scores, what he did the runner scores, so why not bum rush it and hope u beat Mookie to the bag. The Little League World series teams do not make these kind of amateurish mistakes.
