This is why you can't shake the pessimism. This right here. You hold the Dodgers to 2 runs and force them to play an ALDS/ALCS style game, and you almost have them beaten.... and then you pitch Nestor Cortes of all effing people in Game 1 of a one run game and he not only blows the game but gives up the worst possible ending! He literally injects pure adreneline into the veins of a team that has scored 8+ runs in most of it's games versus the Mets. If this team could HIT the damn ball and score a few more runs maybe Nestor Cortes isn't pitching. The Yankees force their pitching to walk the tight rope EVERY GAME.

Cousins not ready for prime time. Walking the #8 hitter started the mess in the 10th. Oswaldo muffing the grounder and not getting an out at second continued the debacle. Freeman should have seen nothing but curve balls. First pitch from Nestor was an 89-mph BP T-ball that Freeman, even on one leg, didn't miss. Judge with three Ks and a no-show in the 9th with runners on 1st and 2nd did nothing to dispel his growing legend as a post season bust. Big G does it again, Yanks scrap a run in the 10th, but grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

I've been telling everyone for 3 years now; the Yankees are never winning (a title), while Boone is their manager and Cashman is their GM. Unfortunately, after this postseason, looks like we're stuck with them for probably the rest of the 2020's. Therefore, we'll go into the 2030's with the first time ever that the Yankees hadn't won a title in back-to-back decades (the 2010's and 2020's now), and the championship drought will move onto 21 or 22 years or more since 2009; the longest drought in franchise history.

the strike zone is part of the game (it's Baseball - come-on), all you can ask of the umpire is that he's consistent (and sometimes you don't get that, its Baseball), then the batters and pitchers go from there. the plate umpire is some of the stragity. and dude the game was played well by both teams, they both had big mistakes. there's a lot of RNG in Baseball particularly here. one thing for sure the Game was epic!

I'm not putting any blame on boone that game, the game shouldn't have gone to extras in the first place, if one of Soto or Torres play their plays correctly, we win the game without having to go into extras. Both runs scored off of sac flys. If those plays don't happen and we gave up the 2 runs from 2 solo shots, then I'm 100% putting it on boone. But the game should've been over in the 9th.
