I got a chance to go to my first ever world series game with friends on Tuesday so I crossed that off my bucket list and I'll never forget it. You really think they fire Boone? They were the best team in their league and made it to the world series. Doesn't that give Brian a reason/excuse to keep him? In my opinion I would like to see him go. Sadly just signing Soto is not enough, and Hal has been saying the payroll is not sustainable. Judge 33 next season Cole 34/35 next season Stanton 35 next season Rodon 32 next season DJL 36/37 next season (they have to pay him even if they cut him) Clearly Soto is important but not enough and I have no faith Hal will do what’s needed
@vissermatt1058
@vissermatt1058 2 ай бұрын
the largest problem is their payroll is somewhat fluffed. the yanks payroll just looks bloated? i personally think rodon is overpaid, but when they wrote that check it was ridiculous. DJL and Hicks got paid believing they would get better, not worse. Dodgers essentially pay top dollar and got a position player allstar team out of it. the yanks have people they like and overpay them, its a bit different

there's a good article out there about Mookie Betts playing balls off the wall in Dodgers spring training camp--just working on gathering, spinning and making one-hop throws to second base...over and over again. the reporter looked at Mookie doing this and thinking it was a waste of time and really no big deal. then the article made mention about how in games 1 and 2 of the WS, Mookie played monster hits to the wall by the Yanks and limited them to singles by perfectly playing the balls off the wall, exactly like he had been practicing. that's the difference between the Yankees and the Dodgers. The Yankees think that by hitting home runs and scoring runs will win them games. The Dodgers understand that fundamentals win you games...because when you're evenly matched everywhere else, the team with great fundamentals wins every time.

Team discipline and culture are on the management. Change is needed. Examples: Cole was trying to walk off the field before the last out instead of covering first. I don't understand why Judge took his eyes off the ball and was looking at the runner. The ball was so shallow there was no chance the runner was gonna try to tag up, and even if he threw a laser on a dime, he wasn't gonna have a chance of doubling him up. Cole was still cooking at that point. Just catch the damn ball and then worry about the next at bat.

I agree generally about the team not playing good, fundamental baseball. This game, most of this year, and in recent years. But that 5th inning was more freak occurrences than anything else. Say what you want about Judge, he is a sure-handed OF. Just took his eye off it (don't know why, not like he was gonna double the runner off first...) Then we have Volpe, a gold glover, rushing the play to third and throwing a one-hopper. Then to top it off, Cole, the most playoff experienced guy on the roster, doesn't cover first. Just can't make this shit up.

Too many mistakes cost us this game and the series . Judge is not the postseason player we hoped him to be. I dont see us competing for a title no time soon. I'd rather the Dodgers just win a blowout than the Yankees find a way to get us so hyped up and then shit all over us one last time. The mental weakness rears it's ugly head again and the team needs to be rebuilt. They literally forget how to play baseball in the fifth, and then Stanton gives us the lead and Kahnle let's the Dodgers load the bases with no outs in the eighth and you knew the game was over because the pathetic offense could not score one run in 2 innings despite Weaver holding them to 7-6. If we held that 5-0 lead in the fifth, Cole probably goes 7 easy and Holmes/Weaver take the 8th and 9th.

I am a Dodger fan and was getting recommended to your videos. You do some great stuff. I know you guys are probably going to go after a 3rd baseman how do you guys feel about Arenado? The Dodger have been trying to trade for him for years but nothing ever came of it. It seems like the cardinals might be more open this off season and the Dodger won’t pursue him now because Muncy and he is much cheaper. I think maybe the Yankees should try to get a trade going for him Arenado.

Just when you thought Judge had come out of his funk his defensive game let them down.He was credited with 1 error but he should have caught another one out there.But,the other errors contributed to that inning as well.Cole should not have assumed Rizzo was going to get to first.Potentially 4 players in that starting line up last night played their last game in pinstripes,5 if Cole opts out,and I don't mind if he does.

I think i Cole knew he could not outrun Betts to first base. He calculated Rizzo could get there first, which didn't happen.

I believe if we sign Soto it is going to handicap this team for a number of years financially.Scrap heap signings to fill out your team just to be close but come up short in the end.Put Dominguez in centre,hopefully Jones can contend for LF and Rice at 1 st and let them mature.

Yankees are the 2nd best team in ny. Mets put up more of a fight than that. Getting swept would have been less embarrassing than what happened in game 5.

The Dodgers won four World Series games with a .206 batting average, seven home runs and a total of 25 runs scored. The Yankees won one World Series game with a .212 batting average, nine home runs and a total of 24 runs scored. On paper, then, this was an even World Series. But the Yankees blundered away Games 1 and 5. The WS wasn't actually that close at all. The difference? Execution and understanding of fundamentals.

‘It’s not that you lost the game that troubles me so my son, it is how you lost it.’ Could it have been more humiliating? All of their weaknesses were in full display. Up 5-0 feeling on top of the world and then nightmare. Sad. I feel for Yankee fans. Cardinals fan here, but love your content. ⚾️ is a beautiful thing. I would invest my money on arms like Burns/Helsley before sinking too much in the Hall of Fame bat no glove player.

Pathetic example of total lack of fundamentals and smart baseball...inept coaching staff... incompetent manager...even Fox commentators asking why no.visit to the mound during that horrendous inning...just to give Cole a rest...even if Cole didn't cover first, it appeared Rizzo made a lackluster effort to reach the bag on time...too many players past their "due date"...Rizzo, Verdugo, Torrez must go...Wells needs top notch hitting instruction, Chisholm has to cut down on strikeouts...the team needs an entire new leadership squad...

I agree with you Derek. I’m not sure Soto is worth over 50. With that money you can sign another top of the line pitcher and go out and get a Teoscar Hernandez or maybe an Anthony Santander to fill the outfield needs. There just so much more you can do with the pot of money signing Soto will require. We’ll see what they do though. This is just my opinion.

@@j2winchester835 oh ok i got ya now. I think he wants to stay he is just doing the whole song and dance to get the most money on this contract. I'd rather keep Soto and trade Judge he will be 33 next season and he has done 0 in every post season in his career. I'm just done with Judge yeah he won MVP but that don't win rings.
