Since I have gone down the path of Japanese hand crafted brushes, I have never looked back and I have never been happier. It may sound crazy but sometimes when I am sitting at my vanity, I just pick up my favorites and just look at them like pieces of art. Great review. Thanks for sharing 💕

I agree but this is the first set that doesn't do that for me. One review on beautylish shows one of the brushes in the set broken but before I knew this, they just looked inferior quality, so I was taken aback when I saw the price.

Finally the Yano’s set review 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼! I was waiting for this review so bad as I haven’t been able to decide if buying the 102 brush or not! Having said that... now it is in my cart 😉. I have so many brushes that I love (all because of you) that I wasn’t sure but it is very unique. Thanks for the video! As always, very educative and helpful for me to decide 😬🌺.

disclaimer: oily, acne prone skin so i don't wear foundation/concealer. my top brushes for small faces/hooded lids: goss #16 + 18 (i believe rephr has dupes), nars small brightener, and the hakuhodo t6. the only other brushes i use are an ecotools smudger for inner corner highlight & random synthetic brushes for creams, like luxie/sigma. thank you so much for these thorough reviews. some may call them wasteful or unnecessary but just know that minimalists like me NEED maximalists to try stuff for peace of mind. just bc i'm happy with what i have doesn't mean i don't get curious (:

Just FYI the T6 is made by Chikuhodo from the Takumi Series not Hakuhodo.

Such a good and informative video, dear Alicia! Try to watch again some video's, i don't wear makeup yet, still cry to much after the loss of my dear mama, she went in the hospital begin January for something else, but got covid there, she died 31th January, my father, my sister and myself are heartbroken of course. So it takes some time, but love makeup, it will come back! And loved your video, and all your knowledge about this, gonna order some stuff via your Beautylish link. Lots of love, and enjoy your day, dear Alicia!!!😘😘😘😘

Am I a brand/manufacturer person? I guess I must be more than I thought because I was intrigued when I saw the email, but then when they didn't disclose the manufacturer but charged Fude prices, I was like huh? I could have Kazan brushes for those prices. But I don't think it's about the prestige of the name, literally no one sees my brushes and I don't display them. I think its about trusting the integrity of the manufacturer when I make a big investment. So I am watching the future career of these brushes with interest. I have the Chikuhodo contour and prefer the smaller size as I tend to (generally) prefer smaller brushes (I like the z-8 way more than the z-1 for example). But I am very intrigued by the spork brush. And all of this is kind of academic at the moment because I just bought a second Kayaki set, one of Wayne's artist brushes, duplicate Smith brushes and the buffer, so my brush budget for Q1 is gone. Which is good. It gives me time to hear more long term thoughts about the Yano Series as I wait for more brush budget in the spring! (although I want that Hakuhodo set too. BADLY.

They're stunning but OMG the price! Granted I've paid a heap more than that in individual WG and SG brushes, plus the WG eye set and I just bought Sonia's newest buffer but dayamn these are more expensive as a set than both Wayne's and Sonia's. I still want em though! Waaahhhhh 😭😭😭

@amypanddirtytoo19263 жыл бұрын
I'm super into being cruelty free and since "cruelty free" technically means the ingredients aren't tested on animals then brushes can legally be classified as cruelty free. However, that being said, Japanese Fude brushes are different. I do NOT buy natural hair brushes from anywhere BUT the Kumano region and the Fude brushes. They take into account the entire experience and process. If an animal is forced to give up too much hair or it is disgustingly ripped from its body, then those hairs are not quality and will imbue the brushes with a bad energy that will give the user a bad application experience. Once a brush is out of stock it takes a long time...lol, a LONG time, for them to come back into stock. This is precisely because it takes time to harvest the bristles coupled with the amazing skill and precision it takes to craft a brush. The larger animals are brushed, yes, but never over brushed. Squirrels actually have those little comb things on the sides of their cages that collect the loose hairs (you know, kinda like those wall corner things we can buy for our cats that they rub against and it brushes the loose fur out?). And yes, I spent a very long day and night digging deep and doing a lot of research into it (deep web and clear web). I wish I had the foresight to bookmark all the different videos and pages I ended up finding so I could just link them instead of leaving essay summaries of what I found. LOLLLLL. But I hope this was helpful anyhow!! Have a great day fellow Frenzz!!!

@@amypanddirtytoo1926 Hi Amy, would you be able to share some of the resources you found in digging into cruelty free? I am always looking to learn more. Unfortunately all I have found is what you mentioned that cruelty free just means not tested in animals and has no legal definition. As for fude, both Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo have said the hair is "byproducts" of other industries such as the fur industry, food industry and pest control. Temptalia commented about this too on one of her blogs if you search for Hakuhodo cruelty free its in the comments section of her review. I have never seen a primary source for the hair being collected via brushing and would appreciate learning from what you found! Thank you!

Beautiful but I don't intend to purchase these right now. The Temps are so cold here in Chicago that the adhesives in my products tend to freeze and separate. Even my highest quality products just fall apart if left in the cold for too long. I can't do that to these beautiful babies.

Sorry but I am not impressed with these brushes 😔 The set has a 1* review because the customer received Brush #1 in two parts(the ferrule separated from the handle ) Also Brush #2 looks weird & reminds of a spork (trying to be dual purpose & failing in both functions) 😔
