Self-care has evolved for me over the past few months. Previously, it consisted mainly of spa days and nail appointments. Now, it includes waking up early to watch the sunrise, going for mental health walks when I feel overwhelmed, staying hydrated, and eating foods that make me feel better.

Loved this! ❤Thank you so much for sharing. As a Black woman and former college basketball and volleyball athlete, this representation truly means a lot to me. I’ve recently gotten into running to stay active, and it can be challenging to stay consistent. You’ve reminded me that it’s not always about constant progress but about the importance of maintaining. Thanks Kayla

We're out here showing up, the best we can -- when we can. That's consistency in itself. Keep running strong, and stay safe sis!

I am joining from Maryland, and am looking forward to taking a break from school and spending time with family and friends this holiday season. Self-care for me is to prioritize my spiritual and physical health by starting my day with prayer and Bible study, then going for a run or a walk. Thanks for taking the time to share from your heart (even with a cracked and strained voice)! Please give those vocal chords a well-deserved break. Take care!

Love the video. It is interesting to see other’s approach to training. I am a powerlifter. We are not that different in the sense that we prioritize recovery and nutrition. I have always wanted to incorporate more running in my training, but low key nervous that it will affect my strength.

nutrition and recovery are essential to peak performance in all activities and life! as a former muscle mami, I totally hear you on figuring out where to implement running especially longer distances. I've found sprints and steady 5ks were a good compliment!
