on a real note, you're allowed to mourn a 3 year relationship that emotionally impacted you. you never expect someone you know on that level to do you that foul, the pain of a breakup to this extent is unbearable, i literally dissociated from reality for an entire year after a guy did me dirty but to process those emotions with millions watching you go through it is HUMILIATING. as someone who was in a situation where i allowed a man to disrespect me, the psychological effects of that aren't talked about enough. when you're that in love with someone to the point where you'd rather know they're with you and be miserable than be at peace without them in your life. you make excuses and fabricate reasons in your mind as to why they could possibly do that to you, every time you try to leave, they lovebomb you and promise it's never going to happen again, that it's different this time. no matter what they love you, that they never meant to hurt you etc. you give in every time because you want to believe it, so you go back. staying with him says to me that you cared about him and genuinely loved him, you should never feel humiliated or judged for loving and empathizing with a person you genuinely care about. the hardest part is accepting that the side you saw of them who was willing to hurt you was always there, and they mask that to benefit themselves. this is just a lesson to help you grow, it's never something you should be shamed for simply because some people have never been in a situation where they understand what it feels like.

I'm sorry for the pain, betrayal, & trauma he put you through. Being in abusive relationships cause you to be mentally rewired in a horrible way & became desensitized to bad treatment.
