Yarborough leisure centre parkrun

Saturday 20th January running the Yarborough leisure centre parkrun
211th parkrun and 1st at Yarborough leisure centre parkrun.
12th finisher, fastest time in ages!
Another cold and windy morning, not freezing, but still an icy wind blowing across the course.
Virtually flat and not twisty, so hoped for a quick time and ended up with running my fastest parkrun since my PB in 2020. Hoping now I can try and get some consistency and get a few more times under 20 this year !

Thank you ! Yeah, didn't want to disappoint with the kick in the last stretch ! I did only manage to pull a 2 second gap though !

@@MattClarry yeh given the weather and the time of year, it was cracking!, that first mile really set you up and there wasn't much drop off! .....it bodes well for tapping on the door of even a sub 19 with great conditions and a nice run of form later in the year, bookmark that course. 👍🦾🏃

Amazing run! Good to see another sub 20! You should come to Endcliffe again, been a while since you've done it, the starting point has changed from the grass to the path so it's a nicer start when it's muddy out there! Cheers

Cheers Daniel, ay, was happy to get back under 20 again! Ay, it has been a little while since I've been to Endcliffe, probably will be heading back in a month or so, think it did start on the path the last time I was there. And the pinch point at the bridge is always fun !

Well done - looks like an excellent course for a time - wide tarmac paths and pan-flat. Never enjoy ones with too many laps, but the paths were good enough here that it wasn't really an issue. Ever dipped below 19? That should be your 2024 target!

Cheers ! It is a nice quick course, because of the shape, it didn't feel too repetitive ! I have run an 18:58, though unofficially ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWLapH5rqNCNd9U ) and a couple others around that time too, but picked an calf/achilles injury shortly after and hadn't been able to get anywhere close since.

Cheers Keith, I was hoping for sub 20, but wasn't expecting it to be quite so far under, now I've got the pressure of trying to get close again😉 I did have a similar moment last year, then couldn't get close again, hope that doesn't happen this time!

I have, it was the first Lincoln parkrun I did, back in April last year, managed a 19:47
