Wow! What a great restoration!!! That scraper is such a beautiful model! You can tell the steel was great because of the lack of deep staining. Awesome job! I saw that great pump at the show! I was amazed at the volume of water it was pumping! Great stuff!!! 😃👍

Who knew that Disston ever made scrapers? Unless this is an old converted saw plate? I wish I could find scrapers like this at my local hardware store, with a wood handle and the corners nicely rounded over.
@357magdad6 жыл бұрын
I found a scanned 1918 Disston catalog online that had very similar "wall scrapers". Disston used "PHILADA" on saws from 1896 thru 1917.

Why is it when I go through that process with an undescernable maker's mark it always turns out to say: "Kmart 1973"?
@upsidedowndog12565 жыл бұрын
Now that they are out of business that may become desirable. My first set of metric wrenches are KMC, KMart Corporation, that I bought when I was 11 in 1981. They are still great wrenches!

Superior steel. The finest handsaws made in America. I have quite a few Henry Disston saws including a rose handled “Victory Saw,” not sure from which war though. That should be a fine working scraper.
