I love your channel and listen to the podcast. It would be great if you had a couple of Italian wars big gamers on the podcast. You could discuss everything from army construction, painting, game arrangements, rules and tips and tricks. Cheers

@peterschief9778 cheers, the episode with Martyn Kelly covered quite a bit of that sort of stuff, I've been looking for a suitable Historian for that type of show for a while now but not got one. Martyn is doing a big Pavia game this year so I might ask him to come back on when it's done

Great video 😊 Your sentiments on basing and the look of the game are my own.. It's a very visual hobby and that has always been my first objective .. Have only played the rules a couple of times solo but they seem to have a good feel to them .. Any articles / videos on the Italian Wars are much appreciated and an excuse to see Your colourful collection ! Cheers ...

Enjoyed hearing your basing manifesto. Makes loads of sense to keep things with the same frontage and protecting models with deeper bases should be the norm! Please do some videos on unit types.

Very nice. What are some good books to get a feel for this period? Also, I’d love a video on unit types.

@bishop2k7 cheers, there's series coming on the Italian Wars 👍 As for books I always recommend Omans history's as a good starting point, the last book on the Middle Ages and the 16th century one. Then I'd go for the Helion Series. I'll do a video on that as well

Once I have completed Pavia using P&S rules, I will have a bit more time. So I will probably come back to Furioso. The main things that puts me off is that my figures are all individually mounted and put on unit movement trays. I don't want to have to get multiple movement trays for a unit. I am sure there is a way around it, but I will need to have a think about it.
@YarkshireGamer9 күн бұрын
I suppose you would just have to designate a unit as a number of bases
@StephenDanes8 күн бұрын
Hi Guys, really enjoyed your review, very interesting. Glad you like the rules. Not sure if it is your thing but have you tried the ECW version of Furioso? It's a more developed system and probably easier to follow especially if you have played the Italian Wars version.
@YarkshireGamer8 күн бұрын
@StephenDanes many thanks, I haven't tried the ECW version but that's only because the group I play with tend to stick with rule sets for a long time and we are using an amended version of Forlorn Hope at the moment, by moment I mean last 25 years 😄

Couple of things I’ll look at there Ken. You once thought of giving commands a dice for BIG games rather than units, ever do it?
@YarkshireGamer10 күн бұрын
Hi, we never did, as we have played the rules quite a bit now we found that we rattled through the moves (with a couple of thousand) figures without the need to speed it up. I think it would work if there were fewer players handling a lot of figures, but that's not been an issue for us
@martinradcliffe479810 күн бұрын
Could'nt agree more about basing agnosticism(!). Never quite shaken the feeling that basing is a bit of a con.
