I decided to make a "quilt as you go" quilt which means a block at a time with hand quilting. It was the need to make something beautiful with the many scraps if fabric I have and to give it to one of the charities who help people who have gone through trauma..The LinusProject being one such. I don't much mind who they are but it fulfilled my need to be useful, creative and be surrounded by something lovely when most of us are at a loss as to what to meaningfully do. Many thanks Sherry asxever, for helping us cope together. Steph in a dreary but safe South London!

Embroidery and rhythmic crocheting are my comforts. They are as it is, but I am appreciating them even more so now. I’ve been reading Monty Don’s “My Garden World”, which has been a delight, and my ultimate comfort reads - Terry Pratchett Discworld novels. Take good care of yourself lovely, and please tell Christopher that his artwork is amazing ❤️

I know your Advent Calendar will be beautiful, I loved my advent from 2020 which I'm knitting into a Habitation Throw by Helen Stewart "curioushandmade". So loving your gentle podcasts Sherry, thankyou. I have just finished the first book by Lucinda Riley The Seven Sisters and ready to get the second book from a series of seven which is The Storm Sister. I found it an easy read, liked the uncomplicated way it was written and it kept my interest all the way through. I also have just finished "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens, loved it. Pure fiction and also easy to read.

Watching the news breaks my heart for those poor people in Ukraine. Like most people we are doing what we can to help. To keep calm, I 'twiddle some earth' in the garden, pick up my knitting or crocheting and read. At the moment I'm reading the 'Miss Silver' mysteries by Patricia Wentworth - they are great fun.

I'm loving your Chronicles and your podcasts, always inspiring and calming during this scary, upsetting and heartbreaking times. I always go back to Wiind in the Willows or Bramley Hedge when I feel very unsettled. Wishing you a gentle day xx

The news is just awful, I can't believe all of this happening, my heart goes out to the people of Ukraine! I've loved and watched your vlogs, they are perfect and calming with the music. I keep busy with knitting to soothe and reading. My present book is The Gardener by Sally Vickers, it suits my mood at present. Thanks Sherry for all you do. 😘 xx

It’s totally awful, Sherry, I’m so anxious by this situation, I can’t begin to imagine what it must be like for these poor people. I’m finding solace in knitting my North Easterly blanket. Looking forward to your yarn advent

Isn't it a comfort to have our crafting to keep us calm? Xxx

@@SherryIris it certainly is. You might also like to support Ukranian Crafters by supporting their Etsy shops and buying digital downloads, a couple of my fellow KZbin crafty friends have bought digital cross stitch charts and things like PDFs for paper dolls. I’m certainly going to have a look

The pictures on the news everyday are truly heartbreaking and how such an evil man has done this is incomprehensible. Some of my knitted and crocheted blankets are on the way to Ukraine as part of a lorry load of donations that left yesterday. My gentle knitting and sewing keeps me calm too and you’re right when you say that crafters keep busy using their hands to create beautiful things. I’m sure your Advent calendars will be spectacular Sherry!
