I think I have the same winder as you, it looks exactly the same but I know my husband got it from Amazon. It does make nice cakes. I’m so happy you got one that works good! If you ever think it seems like it’s winding a little weird double check that the metal arm thing is completely locked in place. That’s the only thing I have ever run into using mine. I have a solid wood Swift and winder and love them. Waited for the last black Friday and boxing day sales to grab it. Extremely quiet and no gears to worry about. Love mine.

Got a wooden yarn cake maker. I usually use an empty toliet paper tube around the center. It helps the yarn to feed from the center more smoothly and do not end up pulling as much out to start knitting. Sometimes it gets difficult to not have a lump of yarn to come out from the center when pulling from the center. Might depend on how much the yarn "sticks" to itself.

Yours looks like the one I have except my arm doesn't move and your cakes look way bigger. The next time I have alot to wind another chanel mentioned if you tape down a paper plate to the bottom you can wind more. If I try it I'll let you know. Thanks for sharing 🤗🦉

Mine looks the same, but my "blue parts" are a slightly different shade of blue. My husband bought it from Ali also. I don't know how I ever managed without it. I use it so much that I think he wishes he hadn't gotten it for me....lol. Enjoy!

I see people winding yarn a lot lately. What is the purpose if the yarn is already in a ball? I'm new to all this, lol!

Hi Cindy! If the yarn is in a round ball 🧶, you can't see the colors inside without unballing the entire ball. Also when they're in cake form they fit & sit neater on your yarn shelf & don't roll off. And if you have several balls of scrap yarn that are the same weight, such as 4 weight, and possibly the same fibre content, such as all acrylic or acrylic blends, you can make a beautiful cake with several of them to create your very own unique colorway. Even if you don't have a project in mind you may be more likely to use the cake, rather than a bunch of miscellaneous balls. Thank you for the question! 💞

Hi Roberte! In my experience my items arrive within a month or 3. They do give you an arrival date & if you don't get your item when promised, you can open a dispute. I've had my money returned & the item has shown up at a later date.
