Our Walmart recently remodeled and the yarn section was made smaller! All the crafting isles were reduced. It’s terrible. I used to be able to count on them for things and those days are gone! I, too, remember when red heart was under $2 per skein. Love watching your shopping trips!

Your Walmart yarn section is ginormous compared to my local store, there is a shortened 1/2 shelf of yarn, period. I always have to order on line no matter which hobby store it is needed from and I’m in a HUGE city! I have made a couple of projects out of the Anemone pink/maroon color in RH ombré it is pretty too.

I remember it being 50 cents but it wasn't super saver! My gram back in the day when not using thread would only use red heart yarns. We had a Ben Franklin store close by and she would stock up on yarn. Ben Franklin was your variety type store, they had a great crafty section.

I love that teal ombré & can’t wait to see the poncho!!! I have the Walmart app & I always check the app to see if what I want to buy is in stock at my local Walmart. I live in a very small town & our Walmart stinks. I live about 10 miles away from it & I have saved myself many a useless trip into town that way. But mine does carry the Premier Puzzle yarn & I love to work with that yarn. They just don’t always have enough skeins to make something large out of it. That’s a real bummer, too.

I would love to have that kind of selection of yarn at my Walmart. Our shelves are always 1/2 to 3/4 empty! I'm really lucky to find any yarn that I want to use. I've never seen the Red Heart Ombre, or the Mainstays brand, and the LionBrand selection is skimpy at best.

Thank you for the support of breast cancer month. I'm a 8 yr survivor! The closest Walmart to me just did a remodel and took half the yarn isle away. It used to he a nice selection and now there's hardly any there. I do want to get some of the Jazzy ombre. The Redheart ombre is my favorite yarn!

Waiting impatiently for your tutorial, using this teal ombré.😉 I have been to Walmart twice, since you shared this, and now have two 66qt plastic storage bins of ombré. Some of the ombré, I already had, but omg, I am definitely developing an addiction. I am using the ombré with a 6.50MM hook, to make a loose stitch toddler blanket. The gradual gradient color changes, are beautiful! I hope she and her Mommy, like how it turns out.

Eric didn't look at the numbers on the package to see if they match. My Wal-Mart seems to be deleting their craft section. I can never find what I want even in other sections of the store. I won a pink purse for Breast Cancer Awareness. My service dog, Cheeko and I collected $590 for Breast Cancer. Every time someone asked me about Cheeko; I would talk to them about him and then ask them for a donation for Breast Cancer.

My nearest Wal-Mart restructured the isles and layout, the yarn section was made so small, it's half the size of what you showed. It's disappointing 😞 when you're there and can't pick up what you want or need. Deep Teal is a favorite color of the ombre, coral is next in line.

I have a Bernina 1 needle embroidery machine and my friend got a Babylock 10 needle. We love them. I haven't used it lately because crocheting has been my go to but I need to get it out as I have approximately 400 lip balm holders for my Christmas donations to make. I'm making a blanket out of the RH black ombre in a rib stitch. Started out as a scrarf, hubs thought it had a "cool" snake skin look...so off to 2 Walmarts in one day to get more to make it a blanket. He loves how it's coming along, so he ordered some in Hickory. First time in 13 years he's ever bought yarn!

I live a couple miles from a Walmart and have not stepped foot in the store in several years. I do have a JoAnn & Michaels within a mile of me, however they are small stores. I will drive 30 miles to go to one of the bigger stores. I also order from Web's Yarn in North Hampton, MA. I also spin my own yarn so I usually want the natural fibers over the acrylic yarns.

Wish we had a Walmart in the UK, what we have is a handful of stores called Hobby Craft. My nearest is miles and miles away on the other side of town. We don't have a wide range of the brands you use, and the online shops that do carry them is quite expensive - not even in a wide range of colours either. Oh well, I just have to keep making do with what I have!! Kudos to your hubby going yarn shopping with you.

My Walmart has less than half an aisle and only on 1 side of the aisle as well. They used to be great. My only other option is Hobby Lobby which is great and my go to usually. I did road trip last weekend to Sioux City, IA and Omaha, NE to get some Scarfie, Unforgettable and Caron cakes that I can't get locally (live in middle Nebraska). That was a great trip!

living in a metroplex of large cities, I have several walmarts I can easily visit and am still disappointed in EVERY yarn/craft aisle. Most are just small with very limited yarn selections, some are so messy/disorganized you cant find anything even when the shelves aren't almost empty. I'd like to blame covid but unfortunately it's been like this for years. I hope you can find what you are looking for online.

You can order online and have it shipped! I haven’t been to the local Wal*Mart in years! I needed some cotton yarn for WISH and just added it to my grocery list for “pick-up”. I may sign on to their “delivery service”! I am 70 now and recently had open-heart surgery, fully vaccinated BUT try to stay out of stores….especially Wal*Mart!

While Caron and wool ease are my personal favorites, mainstays are the best/ most affordable for me to make lap afghans for Christmas for the veterans at the vets hospital. The fibers are soft, brightly colored and stand the test of time re: washings. I wish my wally world had the yarn selections yours does lol. Be well 🦋

Lion Brand mandala ombre is my absolute favorite yarn to work with and I too wish they would come out with some more colors. Theres only so much you can do with what's available. I would even but that yarn if it were solid colors.
