Just received this camera from you yesterday Jeff. It looks like it came out of the box new in 1970. New light seals, clear lens, electronics work, shutter times correctly. Loaded it with Kodak TMax and can't wait to see the result. Will probably get an ND filter so I can shoot Ilford HP5+ with it.

Nice wear on that CCN. I hoe my CC lasts long enough to get to that state.

hello thanks for your video! i have a question, with this double-stop focusing ring, is it possible to do hyperfocal?

It looks like these and the GX have issues with the meters and "auto"? A lot of the ebay ads from Japan state this. Is this an issue on these or just lack of battery to test with? Can't find too much online.

Dear Sir I have one great CCN but not the manual... there is an pdf manual for de CC online and some paper manual on ebay but for the CCN none... do you know where I can get one ? Thanks and kind regards from Portugal. This camera by the way is a gem!!!! Love IT
@japanvintagecamera88693 жыл бұрын
There are no functional differences to the CC and CCN, you can use a CC manual with no problem. The only difference between the cameras is internal, the CCN uses better material for the POD, and a difference in the control for long exposures.

Your reviews are great for a newbie film shooter such as myself. Thanks for that! Been looking for at camera on ebay, your version seems to be missing the 'Wide' tag on the left side, is this a different version?

I have a question if anyone can answer it. When an object located at 3 m is on focus in the viewfinder (the two boxes align) the lens gives me a meter reading of 7 meters. I tried with other distances and the lens consistently gives me about twice the distance the object is at. Should I believe the lens or the viewfinder ?
@grillman7170 Жыл бұрын
I have just realised that when I focus all the way to the left the marking goes past the infinity symbol. I am now guessing that the focus ring has moved and needs to be recalibrated.

I'm answering my own question but who knows it might help someone someday. So I unscrewed the focusing ring (3 small screws. Don't remove them completely, just make them loose) and aligned the infinity symbol with the red marking then screwed the focusing ring again and voilà! Works like a charm now.

Does your CCN produce very warm photos with an orange color cast? It's something I've noticed since purchasing mine.
@MarcoFantin13 жыл бұрын
I didn't notice any cast in mine. In the end of the video he explains that it might be due to the thorium lens element on the lens. Thoriated glass tends to yellow over time.

Hi thanks for this video. I got this camera and enjoy it so far. Some questions: 1. How to make the shutter release button move smoother? Right now it works but feels like there’s a bit of friction. 2. Film advance. When there’s no film, cocking it is smooth. When there’s film it feels much harder to cock and a bit crunchy. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks!

1. Have it CLA'd 2. That's normal

I love the look of your CCN! I have two CC, and I think I will make it my mission to be less carefull with one of them. That brassing looks sexy! :-) BTW - it REALLY irks me that you never seem to cock and fire the shutter of the cameras you show. That is such a pity! You spend a lot of time showing features that are fairly obvious from having one look at the camera, but one of the more important things you don't demonstrate: How does ist sound? I would watch your videos a lot more often if I didn't each time feel like Charlie Brown being tricked again by Lucy with the football. But other than that, your videos are great. I always learn something I didn't know before.

Thanks for the review! I did notice on my own that when it indicates overexposure it instead shoots at 1/4 or so instead of defaulting to the highest speed. Have u experienced something similar with yours?

We’re there any square format 35mm cameras that were never exported from Japan?
@japanvintagecamera88694 жыл бұрын
There were a few oddball cameras in different 35mm formats, such as early Nikon rangefinder cameras. Olympus and Mamiya also produced such cameras. I find these from time to time, but they are quite expensive.

Are you able to shoot at night?
@MarcoFantin13 жыл бұрын
You can, there is a cable release and the meter works up to 8 or 16 seconds.

They are the same camera, this one is just missing the Wide emblem.

This is a lot to ask, but are there from Yashica or other reputable rangefinder mfgrs a Model/s that will accept my pre-AI Nikon F lenses? That would be awesome. Thank You , Sir.
@JeffDvrx Жыл бұрын
this comes 3 years late, but nope haha. rangefinder lenses and SLR lenses interact very differently with the cameras they're designed for. The focusing system in a rangefinder works by moving along with the lens (meaning there needs to be contact between the lens and a part of the rangefinder), which would be impossible with an SLR lens since those have a longer flange distance (meaning they're further away from the film plane -> they wouldn't reach the part of the rangefinder that moves along with the lens for focusing). Add the difference in lens mounts (your Nikon lenses literally wouldn't fit any rangefinders) and that pretty much paints the whole picture. The vast majority of rangefinders are fixed lens cameras, so the lens on it is the only lens that's ever going to be on it; exceptions to this would be Contax (II, III, G), Leica, Nikon M and S (which your lenses wouldn't work with in spite of being Nikon), Canon 7 and P, Konica Hexar, Voigtlander Bessa rangefinders... There's a number of them. If you REALLY wanted to use an SLR lens on a rangefinder you'd need to have it rehoused, aka sending it to be custom modified which you can imagine would be *painfully expensive.*
