I have a hard time understanding Yasir's accent, as I'm partially deaf. So I turned on the closed captioning. At one point, it has Yasir saying that cops evolved into goldfish, which I'm pretty sure Yasir didn't actually say. Lol.

In context, I'm pretty sure he said carps (which is not exactly true, because goldfish are still carps just like humans are still apes) but it wasn't just you and the auto-subtitles, those two words can sound very similar in Indian English and other non-American accents.

Plain case of a bad teacher. In my undergrad geology course, the palaeontology/evolution tutor was a devout Christian (respect for the honest ones) and taught us evolution by natural selection, pure and simple.

Biology is by far the hardest of the three stem sciences. Because biology is all about gradations, no clear cut lines anywhere. Therefore much more difficult to learn/memorise. It does not conform to human desire to classify things into neat boxes.

When he asks them a question, and they know the answer destroys their argument, so they just say something random to divert. It pisses me off too.
