Intro - Surah Ale Imran, Verse 185:
كل نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۖ فَمَنْ زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ ۗ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
Translation:
Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the delusion of enjoyment.

*It’s amazing how detailed Islam is when it comes to the afterlife.* I’ve heard of several converts who converted to Islam simply because they came close to a near-death experience and they appreciated how vivid Islam describes the afterlife. Given the way the circumstantial manner in which that the Qur’an was revealed, they realized there was no way the Prophet (peace be upon him) could just make it all up. And then the simple and coherent narrative of God sending prophets and people having to work for paradise was just a cherry on top.

The sheer eternity of Jannah sometimes terrifies me. After trillions of billions of years, we'll still be there. Every fantasy and desire we'll ever have will be fulfilled countless times. But at some point, after an infinite amount of time, will we yearn for something else? Or are we satisfied forever? It's daunting to wrap my head around.

I know, it's absolutely mind-blowing...trying to imagine how it feels like to be alive for eternity, but I can't really grasp that yet. In this life we're so used to everything being limited and there if will be the complete opposite. But it's also a great motivation to keep striving forward and do good deeds, because the rewards are literally gonna last forever. And of course one would love to have the very best for his/her eternal life

I think the same way, until I realise I can think of stuff to occupy my learning and experience for at least like a couple of million years lol, and by then we'll probably know better what else there is to do/learn out there. Like, when we've become experts in astrophysics (remember even the laws of nature will be new) and biology and every sport ever and seen all the species ever existing and heard the life stories of every person /jinn/angel ever and explored all the recesses of our own "kingdoms" and others', especially keeping in mind that we're in no hurry to do so and that the hereafter is dynamic and not stagnant, it just keeps getting better, and not to mention that all we can fathom is assuming the senses and faculties that we currently posses, not considering the extra abilities and senses we may have......aargh I'm totally rambling cuz it's so mindboggling but it seems amazing! May Allah grant us all homes near Him in Jannah

A llahumma inni as’alukal-jannatah wa ma qarrab ilayha min qawlin aw ‘amalin, wa a’udhu bika minan-nari wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw ‘amalin, wa as’aluka an taj’al kulla qada’in qadaytahuli khayran” اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا سَأَلَكَ عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَاذَ بِهِ عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ كُلَّ قَضَاءٍ قَضَيْتَهُ لِي خَيْرًا ‏”
