In celebration of Arab Heritage Month, Yasmin Elhady discusses her journey, career and how she balances being an attorney, comedian, and match-maker and the importance of representation in the media.
Yasmin Elhady is an Egyptian-Libyan American comedian and attorney who has toured all over the United States and United Kingdom. She was born in Egypt but moved to the United States when she was four years old and studied Neuroscience and Middle Eastern Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, before moving to California to attend UCLA Law School. She’s performed at The Kennedy Center and is featured on NBC’s True Story with Ed Helms and Randall Park now streaming on Peacock. You can catch her stand up comedy on TikTok and her comedic skits on Instagram. She’ll be back at the Kennedy Center on May 18th for TEDx at the Eisenhower Theater.
