I saw this in theaters when it first came out. I was blown away by the opening and Jill being the killer.

Highly impressed by you putting Jill on your radar and keeping her there. The usual assumption is that she's going to be the new Final Girl to replace Sydney (it was certainly mine). Good work all the way around, even with some flip-flopping at the end.

That's actually the reason I had her pegged as the killer before even watching the movie. So many people said she was going to be the new final girl that I was convinced she'd actually be a killer. Lol

Glad you're catching on to the way they play with red herrings. The main ones are usually fairly easy to spot (The dad/Randy, Derek/Cotton, Kincaid, Trevor/Kirby) once you get the hang of the musical clues and other hints they give.

Make sure you go watch the deleted scenes for this movie, and maybe even read the original script. There is so much that is left out about the murders that really tie them all back to the originals. Oh, and bloopers. Just because they are fun. 😂

Reasons for scream 4's existence boils down to two things: A. People were disappointed with scream 3, so they wanted to end the series on a high note. B. At the time, basically every major horror movie & franchise was getting remakes in the late 2000s/early 2010s - said remakes being mostly terrible and/or completely unnecessary cashgrabs. So wes craven and kevin williamson felt there was a lot of "slasher rules" to work with there.

I forgive the fact the Jill attacked Sidney in the hospital because all parties would be highly dosed with top pain killers and Jill is just psychotic. It's like those people who get tasered by the cops over and over again but keep fighting because they are high and/or hopped up with adrenaline.

I was waiting for this! I saw you watched Scream 4 on Letterboxd. This is my favorite Scream movie after the original. I love Jill as Ghostface, for me she was the best of them. The one that came closest to achieving the goal. At the time of this movie's release, Emma Roberts was not known for her current type of roles. Scream 4 was supposed to be a remake/reboot of the franchise, she would be the new final girl, or at least that was what was thought. Her motive, at the time of the release, was considered unrealistic, how things change. Social media has never been as prominent as it is today and it is completely plausible (unfortunately) that people will do crazy things to get their 15 minutes of fame. I can't wait for your reaction to Scream 5 and 6.

yeah, when watching reactions, i always think that people watching for the first time now have the advantage of knowing emma roberts and her type casting now vs the clean disney type roles she had at the time, and never experienced the way the movie was promoted as a reboot and the press was pushing her as neve's replacement, so it's a lot easier to suspect her now than it was back then, when it was pretty genuinely surprising

At first viewing I didn't like Scream 4 as much as some people. But it is vastly superior than Scream 3. But after re-watching it again a few years later, it's not as bad as I remembered. Kirby was my favorite character and I was happy that she survived. Once again another fantastic reaction. Keep the videos coming!!! 👍

I think scream 4 is the opposite of scream 5. Scream 4 has a great final act and ghostface reveal but the rest of the movie is whatever in’s scream 5 the movie us really good until the final act
