The opening scene with Tara getting the call and being attacked was filmed on both the first and last days of the production thanks to Covid delays “The beginning of this scene she’s seventeen year old,” and she turned eighteen before returning to finish the scene. They have nothing but praise for Jenna Ortega’s performance and professionalism.

So many people have been confused with the whole Billy storyline, thinking he's portrayed as a ghost or someone with redeeming qualities. That wasn't the case. I liked the idea that she was taking medication because she was having hallucinations of her dead father, and the pills started to ware off where it wasn't working anymore. (My guess is Richie tampered with them). This was her dealing with the fact that he is her father and afraid of turning into him. But in order for her to go into survival mode, she had to accept of being his daughter and let that in instead of burying it. We were watching her dealing with her mental health and demons. They can do a lot with it in the upcoming Scream movies where she can still use that part of her to survive OR it can make her snap into becoming like her father. It's kind of like how different killers have tried to make Sidney snap mentally due to past trauma (Mickey and Roman), but she always overcame it instead (going to college doing theater, working at a women's crisis hotline, writing a book about overcoming the darkness of trauma and creating a family of her own). So they could take it in the opposite direction for Sam as the main final girl and actually make her snap mentally and become a killer herself. Billy, as a hallucination, was also a good call back to the first Scream when he told Sidney, "It's like Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs, when she keeps having flashbacks of her dead father".

Sam is actually around 25-26 in this film as she was a junior high when Kirkby was a senior in the events of Scream 4 and she said she was 30 (stated in Scream 6)

Fun Facts: 1. The Original Scream cast did voice overs Drew Barrymore (Casey Becker) was the principal on the intercom in the beginning. Also, Matthew Lillard (Stu) was the one in the KZbin channel doing the medal ghostface voice and at the party he's the one that said " Cool house" to Amber when she was walking through. Jamie Kennedy (Randy) was the one who made the comment about the "some goofy ass dad is here kicking everyone out." Hayden (Kirby), principal Himbry, and others from the franchise were part of the "For Wes" when they cheered. 2. Also, on that KZbin channel, the first clip on the side of the screen it was an Easter egg that confirmed Kirby survived from Scream 4. It was her doing an interview about being a survivor. Then below hers, there's another clip asking if Stu Macher is still alive or not, lol. Kirby and Stu had been a HUGE debate with the fans whether or not they both survived. So they confirmed it with Kirby, but with Stu, they gave us a teaser. 3. When Chad picked up the candle stick as a weapon, it was a reference to when Sidney grabbed a candle stick in Scream 3 to defend herself with again Roman. 4. I don't know if you caught it or not, but in Dewey's trailer, he has Tatums ashes next to his gun box. 5. Yes, Sidneys husband Mark is Detective Mark Kincaid from Scream 3. 6. Wes Hicks Kill Scene, where he closed the front door. No one told Dylan that ghostface would be behind him in that scene, so his reaction to it was legit, lol. 7. Even though Mindy said to Wes about his mom being safe but yet they got killed anyway. Two reasons: 1st is they killed the Sherrif and her son as a decoy/distraction to lure the cops away from the hospital their main target was Tara. 2nd reason they killed off Wes, who is a reference for "Wes Craven," it was their way of having a memorial for Wes Craven in the movie. He died a few years after he made the 4th, so this one was like a love letter to him 8. At the hospital, when GF appeared behind Richie, he got his arm sliced similar to when Jill got hers sliced by GF in Scream 4.

The sad reality is we won’t be getting the Scream 7 we should have. They fired Sam’s actor and Tara’s dropped out (reason given was scheduling, but it was likely because of the firing of Sam’s actress). They are now going back to Neve Campbell with their tail between their legs, because the fallout has been MASSIVE

I’ve seen most people compliment the de-aging they did on Skeet Ulrich but… the first time I watched this, I thought they had hired a young actor that kind of looked like young Skeet, when I found out they used Skeet + cgi/de-aged him I was shocked. I didn’t realize it was CGI until I heard someone mention it in either a reaction video like this or a video essay, but either way, I was surprised by it. It wasn’t worth doing, hiring an actor would have been more effective. Plus, I guess I just find the new uses of CGI and AI for these types of purposes to be a bit unsettling in general, for a variety of reasons.

As much as it saddens me that Dewey was killed, it was kind of poetic for him he saved Sams little sister, where he wasn't able to save Tatum, his little sister. Also, it makes sense for Dewey to be the first legacy character to die out of the three. It gave us a chance to continue watching the Gale/Sidney arc. Dewey's death brought them together and to work as an actual team. Their relationship has grown a lot since the first Scream. Sidney/Dewey always had that brother/sister relationship, and Dewey/Gale always had that on and off again relationship. But Sidney and Gale were never close they always had Dewey has the middle person. With Dewey being gone, it gives them that chance. For those who don't believe that Amber could kill Dewey because of being a girl and due to her size. Dewey was doing good with hand on hand contact. Then he went back and got distracted by his phone ringing. That's the only reason Amber was able to get the upper hand cause he was off guarded. Also, don't forget Dewey has nerve damage/limp, in his 50s, is a drinker now, hasn't stayed active at all, and depression. He wasn't exactly in a good mental state at all. He knew he wouldn't be able to handle it this time around and wasn't going to, but after talking with Sidney, he changed his mind and tried to help. Also, to those who say Dewey got lifted off the ground.. he was never lifted off the ground. Because of the discomfort of both knifes going up in his sternum and back he was following the direction of the knife so he himself was going up on to his toes and then was going down to his knees. Also, the way ghostface was with Sam on the phone trying to make her choose between Tara and Richie, that's something Amber would do. It was her way of proving that Sam was "selfish" and didn't care about her sister.

Something to keep in mind Tara was moved to a private floor people forget that and this movie take place Fall 2020 The rules Never have Sex isnt a rule anymore after Scream 4 the New Rules are basically Killer's motive is always connected to something in the past, always goes back to the original. Never trust your love interest. First victim always has a friend group the killer is a part of.

So with trying to figure out who did what killings in this one is pretty much based on how their personalities are. Amber is very knife happy it goes with her erotic behavior that she showed in act 3. Richie is to the point and doesn't want to waste time. -Tara opening scene: The video of Amber that ghostface sent to Tara to get her to cooperate was obviously pre-recorded sometime in the past and they were just waiting for the perfect opportunity. Richie lives miles away with Sam so it would have to be Amber. - Vince: I believe it was Richie it was done in a instant quick and easy. Plus I think he has a thing for the throats lol. - Sams first attack: Richie. Amber was with the Sherrif being interviewed. - Sherrif Judy and Wes: I think they were both there. They were killed in completely different ways and had different vibes. I think Amber killed Sherrif Hicks when Judy was trying to hold off ghostface knife hand the killer had to punch the blade into her and then went knife happy. Wes I think it was Richie the strength the ghostface was using against Wes and it went into his neck. - Dewey: Obviously Amber. - Chad's attack: Obviously Amber since Richie was just pulling up at the house with Sam and Tara. Chad was stabbed happy and ghostface would have kept going and made sure he was dead but ghostface had to disappear before getting spotted by the car pulling in. - Mindy attack: That would be Richie. When Mindy was on the ground trying to hold off ghostface the killer was aiming the knife towards her neck. Also Amber was with Tara
