@@yassandfats If you all are interested in seeing some military hardware doing fly overs (or in this case "fly unders") you should look up the Mach Loop out there in Wales. It's a series of canyons that pilots fly through periodically where you can hike to the top of the hills and see them fly below you. Lots of RAF activity but USAF F-15s, Ospreys and MC-130s also use the canyon. Might be a fun weekend, and some fodder for the channel? I've wanted to check it out for years. Never had a jet fly underneath me before.

As an American born and bred. 11 generations born and bred. We absolutely love everything about Our Country. That being said. I live in Denver, Colorado. I used to live just north of Mile High Stadium. My Broncos stadium. When I wasn’t at the games. I had the honor of them flying over my house as well! So dope! I’d go stand out in my yard, anthem from the tv playing full blast. Standing in my yard with my hand on my heart. And seeing the flyovers live. Amazing. Love it!

These flyovers are not just the NFL. College sports has them more often than the pros since 9/11. It's more significant for the military to get to practice the level of precision required to get that Time on Target thing right. These young people don't generally fly low and slow over populated areas. Having the bases in close proximity to events means some people enjoy multiple sorties per season. It is pretty special, and I get it. Thanks for watching.

1:35 Northrop B-2 Spirit Just call it the B-2 Bomber. The Northrop B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American heavy strategic bomber, featuring low-observable stealth technology designed to penetrate dense anti-aircraft defenses. A subsonic flying wing with a crew of two, the plane was designed by Northrop (later Northrop Grumman) as the prime contractor, with Boeing, Hughes, and Vought as principal subcontractors, and was produced from 1987 to 2000.[1][3] The bomber can drop conventional and thermonuclear weapons,[4] such as up to eighty 500-pound class (230 kg) Mk 82 JDAM GPS-guided bombs, or sixteen 2,400-pound (1,100 kg) B83 nuclear bombs. The B-2 is the only acknowledged in-service aircraft that can carry large air-to-surface standoff weapons in a stealth configuration.
@jeffrielley9205 ай бұрын
I went to an air show this past weekend, and the B-2 was added to the performance just a week before the show. At about 10 minutes before 1:00 the announcer said the B-2 will fly over soon. Knowing the jet is flying from Whiteman AFB on the other side of the state, I concluded it would fly over center runway at exactly 1:00PM to the second. Yep, nailed it.

While most folks believe this is all done for the American football players and fans, the military (Especially the pilots) get a lot of benefit from it also. When you're a fighter pilot, you need to stay proficient and keep up your flight time/hours. Doing flyovers like this, and air shows, provides the pilots with the flight time they need. It also helps with combat planning, by needing to be at a certain place, at a certain exact TOT (Time On Target). The fans get what they like, while the military gets what it needs. A win-win combination!

What a lot of people dont know is often times the military uses the flyovers to get their pilots training hours and that the stadium is the target they are mocking up. Using them as training exercies is how they justify the money it takes to keep those things in the air, the fuel, the maintenance. That stuff isnt cheap.

The military gets solid oractice out of it too. Practicing to the second precision timing. Dealing with dense urban areas and often international airport traffic. Its great for them. And fun too. College games get the flyovers too depending. Local universities in my area have an AFB north that houses the F35 Demo squadron so we get a lot of F35 flyovers. Have had F16s and had the Blue Angels once intheir F18s. Out in MO they get the B2 spirit steal bomber often as their home base is there. The power those jets have is unbelievable. And to have them scream overhead so low is amazing. The onlybthing that beats it is going to an Air show on an Aor Force Base, going inside the big planes and watching the jets even lower doing stunts and stuff. Amd the infamous sneak pass.
