These folks make awesome tea, I highly recommend them. I live in Miami FL and order from them online twice. I’ll definitely be ordering more!!

I'll be stopping by here on my next Savannah trip. 18th English traders to the Muskogee called Yaupon Tea the Black Drink because it was dark. The Natives called it the White Drink because they believed it purified their spirits before they considered important matters. They would deliberately expel it from their stomachs to clear out dark spirits. This led to the unfortunate botanical name, Illex Vomitoria.

I've lived in Florida for 50 years so I've seen this plant, mostly used as shrubbery! In fact, I believe we may have some in our front yard- will have to check. (The greenery with red berries is a possible match!) I'm very interested in having caffeine the way indigenous people did!

Thanks for reaching out and asking. We do not sell the Yaupon plants. We suggest checking your local nurseries. Good luck!

I was intrigued and always a big fan of natural local products. Since discovering it, Yaupon has become a daily habit and something we always carry. Even the body oil is amazing. We have a four and a half month young pup. He can scratch my arms a lot. The oil takes care of the bacterias, soothes the skin, and hasten the healing. I'm floored by how much I keep on discovering about this plant, right there, virtually under our noses. There's beauty in ancient knowledge and Lou is bringing it back into the limelight backed by science.

I recently visited the Tea house with family from California and really enjoyed the moment, Virginia and Bethany gave us a warm welcome! I'm now enjoying my purchases and will be reordering some things when I run out.I'm so glad Yaupon is making a comeback and that Lou Thomann is doing a great job with researching and mastering the growing processes! I'm so glad he made the decision to follow his inspiration to breathe life back into this lost traditional beverage with such passion and enthusiasm!
