Thanks for this. I was ready to pre-order, but I'm going to hold off. I'm a flight simmer. I use the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. I like it mounted aside my chair, throttle quadrant on left and stick on the right. I didn't see the possibility of this setup on that chair. It's apparent a lot still needs to be done design wise. He didn't seem sure where some components were located which is concerning. I don't doubt their dedication to getting it right and understand certain circumstances beyond their control in the process. I'm just going to be patient and wait a while until the bugs are shaken out.

Thanks! It's nice to see a grown-up on KZbin for a change. I am very disappointed with the Yaw 1. It simply cannot do smooth, continuous, slow movement. Instead, it moves a little, stops briefly, moves a little, stops... Yaw VR said the movement of the Yaw 1 is strictly "position based" (instead of controlling motor speed.) This makes it OK for things like rally racing or dogfighting, but useless (IMO) for smooth flying. They are aware of the problem and assure me that the Yaw 2 motion is smoother. Videos I have seen (and analyzed using motion tracking in DaVinci Resolve) do show this to be true. I'm looking forward to an improved experience with the Yaw 2. Have a swell day and make more videos!

Very cool idea, will be fun for flight SIM, however for a racing SIM, watching that pedal box movement, unless you’re able to strengthen it, anyone with a decent set of pedals there will be too much dampening 🤔 Longer legs you have the worse it will get…just simple physics..those with short legs, may provide more stability It will be interesting to see it put through the paces with a 200 lb 6’ man. I think they’re on the right path, they just need to stiffen up the pedal box, as the damping effect SIM racers will get when using pedals with a loadcell for example. At $800+ cnd to ship, taxes in with the 360 base, this will be creeping upwards to $5,000.00 to my door

you think this thing is a good budget buy for a simulator?
@VRSimWizard2 жыл бұрын
What constitute “budget” is really subjective. I mean, it’s not like home-based flight/racing simulation is a necessity, right? I would say, compared to the other systems out there, the Yaw 2 offers more features in a more attractive package for a very reasonable price. But, at more than $2,000, there’s no way I’d consider it “budget”

Hi , I backed standard version with rotation platform . I love what I'm seeing , but the rattles coming from the chairs when short quick directional changes happen are not good , saying it's a little louder than Yaw Vr is an understatement. Please face it - It's not just bad , it's BAD Bad. Just saying , Please don't hate me , I'm just being honest with you. You are doing a fantastic job with Yaw VR2 , Keep up the awesome work.

Trip, I hear ya. Yaw understand this issue, and were pretty clear the current desk and foot rests aren’t in final form. We can all hope the clackity-clack will be reduced, if not eliminated by the time the Yaw 2 is shipped out. Thanks for your comment.

I see a problem still.. with the 360 degree you will get strangled by the Cable from the head set.. can you Mount the desktop to the chair?? or is there a other solution?? in DCS you make many circles and 180 degree setting is not the option i am looking for. greetings D
@VRSimWizard2 жыл бұрын
Daniel, cable management will definitely be a challenge. Most are either getting a wireless HMD, or planning on limiting the Yaw 2's rotations to something like +/- 180 degrees. There has been extensive discussions about slip rings, but currently, Display Port slip rings are very expensive. I'm not sure what you mean by mounting the desktop to a chair. The desk/platform IS mounted to the base of the chair.

@@VRSimWizard I though rotational 220V is more cheap and easy, why not mount the desktop somewhere to the back of the yaw2?

how does the turning work??? the yaw 2 turns 360 degrees but the head set stays in the forward position.
@VRSimWizard2 жыл бұрын
The headset is on your head. When you turn 360 degrees, so does the headset. If you’re wondering about tracking with the simulator spinning, they employ motion compensation

WILL THIS SYSTEM WORK FOR CONSOLE? Thanks guys
@VRSimWizard2 жыл бұрын
This question was asked earlier. No way we can know for sure, and it’s more a function of the software you’re running than of the Yaw 2. If the Yaw 2 is receiving telemetry information from the console sim, it should work, but this is a question best asked of Yaw VR.

Hi Dennis~ Great interview to bring the FAQ to the developers! This is super important and useful to alert the developers what issues or concern from VR Sim users that they need to address before mass production. Can you also re-visit Yaw in Day 2 to ask about the swaying issue? At lease from previous demo, I see whenever the seat/table move quickly move to one direction then sudden stop, the seat cannot be hold to stop as desired, but swaying for a while to come stable. Just like the seat or moving parts are not firmly held. This will most likely to cause motion sickness. Can you help to ask them to do some demo of quick-move-then-stop to clear our doubt? Thanks a lot bro~

Can anyone verify what size motors are used in the yaw 2. Website says 500w and 750. In this demo he is saying max of 350w.
@VRSimWizard3 жыл бұрын
I believe he may be speaking of the power per motor. Unless I'm mistaken, there were two motors in the show units, and since those were standard units, that would be 250W each, or 500W total.

this would be cool gaming chair with an adjustable desk that slides back and fourth and controlled in the headset or something. would be neat if in the distance future, this chair can actually go a meter into the air or so (securely of course) to get that gravity fall affect going. would be neat in VR arcades or something. (edit) would this also vibrate as if you're inside a big engine vehicle? because that would be cool too. like install those forcefeed back thing into around the seats maybe or something, might be coool, wait never its has all that already lol. Wait, can you hook this up or put a treadmill like thing on the bottom so it mimics acceleration force as well? with tiny wheels maybe, idk might be cool too

What happens if I put a warthog thrust master Set with proper rudders from thrustmaster will it work 🤣
@VRSimWizard3 жыл бұрын
Slush, the Warthog is a pretty common stick, so there's no reason why it won't work. The exact configuration of the desk, a center mount (like for the Warthog) and the foot/pedal mount are still being refined, but what you see in this video gives you an idea of the direction Yaw VR is headed. The only thing we don't know, and Zsolt discusses this in the video, is what the center mount will look like. By "proper" rudders, do you mean the TPR? Those might be a challenge, but we'll have to wait to see what the final configuration looks like. Thanks for your question.

@@VRSimWizard I'm more curious on the weight throwing it off an burning a engine from it being off balance I mean my pedals are over 10kg in all there videos they use the lightest throttles not really showing us what happens with heavy gear everything in there videos is in the middle or center weight with light pedals
