Could you make another conditioner bar recipe video for a super simple 5 ingredient bar? I know this one would be far superior to a simplistic recipe in function, but as a beginner I really want to try to make my own conditioner bar without having to go buy 20 different ingredients. It gets quite expensive and complicated. Thanks!

Hi there, great video. Can you tell me where you purchased your preservative? Why did you only use .5% preservative versus the higher range, will it still have a good broad spectrum coverage? This preservative is labeled in Cali as a Prop 65. Are there better alternatives I can use as a preservative? Thanks

I have BTMS 225 do i use the same amount or do i need the BTMS 50? Also will you do a shampoo bar?
@YayaDIYCreations4 жыл бұрын
Organic Chic I recommend testing it. These are two completely different ingredients and will act differently with other ingredients and in the final product. Also, Btms 50 has amazing conditioning properties. You may have to add other ingredients to make up for this if you use an alternative. I hope this helps 💜
@krenee9844 жыл бұрын
Organic Chic hey, btms 225 is the same as btms 25, which contains half the amount by mass of the same conditioning ingredient as btms 50. Depending on who you procured the ingredient from, it represents 25% BTMS and 25% of either cetearyl or Cetyl or cetyl stearyl alcohol. (Btms 50 is 50% BTMS, for reference.) You will have to play around quite a bit with percentages to get the same conditioning punch from BTMS 225 as you do from BTMS 50. You will also have to decrease or leave out the cetearyl alcohol altogether when trying out the recipe bc your texture will likely be greatly impacted. I would do a serial dilution with a cheaper butter and oil just to play around and see what percentage of btms 225 (if any) can give you a very similar texture and satisfying conditioning result. Sometimes this is more trouble than it is worth, so I relegated my btms 225 for leave in recipes and for my body lotions/face moisturizer. Hope this is helpful, and happy experimenting!
