Alison has released 9 solo albums over the years, the last so far in 2017, all of which have been top 30 in the UK including a number 1 and three other top 5. I've been a fan since the Yazoo days and have seen her her live with Yazoo and solo many times over the years. Some suggestions of hers would be This House - Is This Love - All Cried Out - Wishing You Were Here - Whispering Your Name.

You are exactly correct. Vince wanted her blues bass with these synths. When computers first hit homes in the 70s he was big on creating artificial sound. He created erasure, Depeche mode, yahzoo. He's a god in computer generated music. The idea was to see the sound.

I think you'll like her solo work a lot, but you will miss the way that Vince was able to frame her voice. Nobody else ever did that as well as he did. You could perhaps do a comparison of the song Ode To Boy. The Yazoo version came out years earlier, but she said Vince changed how it was supposed to sound, so she did a solo version. That's the best way to see how Vince put her voice at the front and built around it.

I know you like 80's stuff so why don't give a chance to Nik Kershaw : "The Riddle" or "Wouldn't It Be Good", Propagaganda : "P-Machinery" or "Duel" And as you like French stuff : Indochine, Les Innocents, Manu Chao, Niagara, Etienne Daho and many others, especially from the 80's (this time was quite massive here for pop-rock stuff....). I think you'll find happiness...

I got a synth for my bday few years ago is a korg, microkorg and basically am making any keyboard sound u could think of plus custom creations. And I plan on making top notch symth music with my band and hopefully bringing it back!!! Thanks to yazoo for the inspiration and something to go off of.

I can only echo what others have said about "Winter Kills" - hearing that live a cappella is unforgettable. For a different take on Yazoo from the same album, try "Goodbye '70s", "Bad Connection", or "Didn't I Bring Your Love Down"

Disgusts me when people pretend they've never heard of a mainstream song or artist. No one lives under a rock. Love that this guy doesn't pretend to not know who these people are. After all, he created 3 but groups and she two. Btw, only a singer would know what a great effortless singer she is. Do you realize how hard it is to go from a raspy whisper to full vocal without a run on, addlib or the nonsense dinners do today to hide the fact they can't do what she does.
