When I worked for London Underground in the late eighties a station manager called Evans used to carry a bag with Yazz’s record in it, he would proudly show it to us because he was Yazz’s Dad 😊

My Dad bought this Yazz record, it reminds me of him. Based on Wiki I understand George Jackson and Johnny Henderson originally wrote this song. Yazz did a banging version, but kudos to the writers. To me it feels odd that they don't get a mention. If the grandkids of George Jackson and Johnny Henderson are reading this, I want you to know that your relatives created something that really moved an 8 year old kid in Manchester who is now a 43 year old in Ilkley. There is a whole live concert on you tube titled ‘the only way is up’ Yazz live in concert 1989 and it’s amazing. Yazz had a strong booming deep voice and then a real high voice as well and loads of dancing, lots of political messages, different styles of music. It’s a brilliant video from her tour ❤

She sounds like one of those rare artists that sound so much better in the higher octave, some singers really can't hold a note in the lower register, it's a shame, because she sounds so good singing high, that it's more of a strain on her voice to come down to a normal range.

I love the colours of the classical and elegant winter clothes as the coats you wear: olive green, brown, gray, white. I love clovers. I love the surnames like MacGarry. It's a very beautiful country, I know it's a success to live there, you are blessed. And I love the fact that many of you have accepted Christ in your lives, that's one of the reasons I think you are a complete success, it's a matter of being blessed. I used to watch those bushman scary pranks and people tend to be funny and nice, not triggered at all. I love irish traditional flute music. I love that the weather is mostly cloudy and rainy. I'm very proud to talk with a person from Ireland. I salute you from Argentina, we love artists like Enya, others would listen to U2 and Cranberries.

@@arcangelico2179 I live in Rialto which is in the south of Dublin. I used to watch the bushman pranks as well but I have never seen him in real life. Enya is a wonderful artist. I would not listen to U2 or Cranberries. They are a bit too noisy. I love the hymn "make me a channel of your peace" which my mother used to sing to me as a child. I work in the Guinness brewery. I have been the postman there for the last 20 years. You are right about our weather. It is nearly always cloudy and rainy. I imagine your country is always warm and dry? The Christian faith is still very strong here especially among older people. I salute you from Ireland.

Great to see Yazz looking so well. She sings well, just a bit hoarse on the low notes. That's what singing live is all about. In the studio you'd stop and do some more takes later but you can't do that when live on TV.
