i dont think they’re from different parts of the country. the majority, if not all of them, are from new york. you obviously have to be jewish to audition, and i think you have to know a bit of hebrew as well. i know for a fact that the directors seek out jewish kids at private hebrew schools (proper name is called a “yeshiva”). i was recently told that MBC directors actually showed up at my old elementary school to hold auditions (i went to a private jewish elementary school).

Yoshi, now that you're older it would be great to hear what you're doing musically. I hope you record a music compilation of songs that resonate with you. We didn't get to hear enough of your voice during your time with Miami Boys Choir (what we did hear was honest, strong, authentic (and dare I say Heavenly ;--) in your lower register that the director failed to showcase as much as he did the high tenors; and by these (many many) comments from your ardent fans I read you are the clear favorite solo in the performance (having sung only a few notes in one solo you obviously made the biggest impression for many listeners, including me, and that really says something)! With a ready made and growing fan club waiting to hear more from you, we fans are left wanting more so come back and gives us an updated encore! Please! I reiterate, I hope you'll record a CD of your own! I can't wait to buy and download you singing new songs now. Keep singing and performing.

That's not Yoshi at the end. That's my boy Naftali Jacobson. He was a soloist during that era as well, but there's not a lot of footage of him. However, he along with Yoshi, yair, and a few others (I forget who off the top of my head) were part of what was known as the Miami 8. During that time, they were the 8 members who were picked to perform at events where they couldn't feature most of the choir (often international shows/tours in the summer.)

@all1swan Жыл бұрын
most of their lyrics are from jewish scripture verses in hebrew (like the torah or tehillim (psalms)), sometimes you can find the transliteration or exact verse & find the English translation of that (which can still be a little off but still will get the meaning of the lyric across even if some of the wording is different). There is also a channel on KZbin that’s done some translations of a few songs that’s helped me, look up revach maimi boys choir with english subtitles & it should be the 1st video/account that come up !
