Wow, the comment about most people not spending enough time brainstorming and the result is putting out content that's not unique and just a derivative of other influences is SO spot on 👌

Comment: thanks for telling us that "Don't ask to see the work before it's being published because a lot of journalists take might take it offensive as questioning their journalism integrity" - Thank you for letting us know, that's very helpful domain insight that a non-press person can easily get it wrong. Here is my Question: What would you advice if I instead say to the journalist sth like "I absolutely don't want to influence your work. In any stage of your writing, don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need any additional materials or fact check anyting, I would be happy to facilitate". How does this sound?

Not sure I agree with the don't ask to see a draft part. I'm not a founder but my company is glad to ask for the draft because it is then we spotted several serious incorrect facts in the article. Had that article gone out on that major tech news site without us having a look at the draft. It would have been disastrous. So I think asking to see draft is fine, it's what you suggest after seeing the draft that is important. My company only asked for the facts to be corrected before publishing in that situation and we provided proofs. And that is perfectly fine in my opinion

You're talking about the confirmed richest person on the planet (There are others said to be more so but no one has confirmed it). Anyways, maybe don't look at the outlier in the situation to base the company on. If you aren't top 3 richest people / companies on the planet, it's likely not scalable.

Can anyone help? You mentioned Laura from CNBC at 34.30. Is there a website where I can find contact details of journalists/ how do I get in touch with them with no one in my circle in journalism? Anyone know of any startup incubators equivalent to YC in UK? I've found this channel whilst searching for answers and realised I need this YC mentorship now but I'm in Birmingham uk. Thank you

You can get contact details of journalists by reading articles written by journalists. There will usually be some kind of email or at the very least you can probably find them on twitter. From what I’ve read online, journalists prefer people to contact them by email or if that’s not possible, by twitter is also fine. Don’t worry about not having journalists in your circle, the uk has at least a couple of major newspapers and there’s also your local newspapers you can aim for. Local journalists may be more willing to help you. If you can get your angle and story right, you can potentially get at least one journalist to write about your startup (or so I’ve read! Might be harder irl...) As for startup accelerators like YC in the Uk, I haven’t done much research on that. I do know, however, that YC does accept startups globally not just those who are based in the US. You could always try applying directly to YC if you feel they are a perfect fit for you!
