3 times national award winning great musical genious Jaidev Verma never got his due compare to his far inferior peers. Neither he run after Kishore Kumar post Aradhana or Mohammad Rafi before that. Actually maestro was one of those along with great Jagjit Singh to cement the position of Ghazals in Bollywood. Now coming about this song, undoubtedly this is one of the finest to come from unbeatable Kishore da. I don't know about Rafi coz he was not as talented as Kishore but looking at the outcome like this song somehow i regret Jaidev should have collaborated with Kishore da for more songs and movies which unfortunately didnot happen as they only collaborated together for 3 movies. But anyway we must remain thankful to both of these legends for giving us such a gem like this. Thank you sir.

Jaidev in one of his last interviews openly said that he wanted to work with Kishore more but Kishore had increased his fees so much by then that his producers could not afford him. I think this must be a fact as most of the outputs of Jaidev were from mid to low budget films in the 70s and 80s. I would have loved to hear ek akela is shahar mein in Kishore's voice( with all due respect to Bhupi sir, who did a tremendous job anyway)
