People say the title is sarcastic but not necessarily. Genshin copies Honkai, obviously, but similarities like fast-draw or clothes do not mean anything. Yae Sakura's fast sword-draw technique can't be considered a copy because they didn't really invent it. Li Sushang didn't copy Zhongli just because something from the sky is falling and even though some Honkai and Genshin clothes have similar colors that doesn't mean that they copied each other either. What I'm saying is: some Genshin players could probably say that Li Sushang copied Zhongli which can be true if we go in order of who did it first but Mihoyo didn't really invent it. HoV ultimate though is something rare and that you don't see often which is is definitely just a copy (here people misunderstood, HoV did it first) Edit: I think people are misunderstanding what i mean with copy. Mihoyo can't really copy itself. They just made some characters similar or made them do something in a similar or identical way. It's not copying in the "stealing" sense.

Yes, if we compare some of the first Honkai characters to any Genshin characters but by the time Fallen Rosemary was released, the effects and animations in Honkai are on another level while in Genshin they are pretty slow, simple and sometimes clunky in comparison. Even an outdated character like Sixth Serenade has more fluent and better looking animations than 95% of the playable Genshin characters. As for the graphics, not really as well. Yes, being an open-world game it has better textures on the environment and the world looks overall better but the models look really bad compared to any of the newer Honkai models (look at Herrscher of Human: Ego's model and then at Yae Miko's model in comparison to their splash art and tell me which model looks better)

It's kinda weird how honkai players always bring up Honkai somehow as if to advise Honkai to Genshin players to play Honkai when Genshin was the game that got them into one of Hoyoverse's games. It's like, here's a huge open world game that had a production cost of $100m+ usd (even more than elden ring or BOTW), oh btw, there's this old and nearly outdated game (playstation 2 looking in design and graphics quality) that has similarities to Genshin. Like... and what? Pretty sure most people wouldn't touch Honkai just because it's similar to Genshin.

Tencent in 2020 published a Mobile Game Quality White Paper that literally accused Genshin Impact plagiarized Honkai Impact 3rd, which probably meant to trick ignorant mobile game players to join their ghostwriter attacks against Genshin, only quickly backfired and turned the tide to Genshin and Mihoyo fans’ flavor.
