Man, that 2006 season was one of the best they’ve done. It’s funny looking back how all of us in our 20s and 30s would come to work and laugh about these episodes. And 18-20 years ago. Now we are in our 40s and 50s still laughing at this stuff. To me that’s the funniest part of the series. It has a bunch of older folks laughing like a bunch of goofy teenagers.

@jpmnky10 күн бұрын
He’s half man. Half bear. And half pig. That’s the brilliance of Parker and Stone. The simplest lines hit the hardest. The backstory to this episode is great. These guys do a full episode in six days. As opposed to 3-4 weeks or months. It forces creativity. And these guys were completely out of ideas when they collectively came up with one of the greatest cartoon characters of all time.
@jpmnky10 күн бұрын
The entire “I’m cereal” line comes from Gore’s 2000 campaign. The national news rode him pretty hard for a minute. And the thing that gets me is I haven’t been able to find the first clip of him saying that. And yeah. The whole “excelsior” thing, 18 years later I have no idea what that meant. Knowing their style there’s 100% a reference to that. And you guys picked up immediately they’re using this as a metaphor for “An Inconvenient Truth”.

I agree, and the results back it up also. The average player in the NBA is just too good to have a stagnant offense with 1 or maybe 2 ball dominant players. All the teams who are successful in the current NBA play a 5 man game, where there are clearly defined roles and the ball doesn't stop moving. But beyond that, its just so boring to watch. Watching team basketball is way more exciting. Nothing becomes more stagnant than when that thing become predictable, and iso ball is beyond predictable. It made a bit more sense in the "big 3" era, but even then you had teams like the Spurs and Mavs who won against the star packed Heat. And the Warriors really brought back dominant team basketball into this current era. Since then, including with the Nuggets, iso ball doesn't compete with legit 5 man team ball.
