They're arguably one of the most influential bands of the 21st century but you're right they don't get nearly get the credit they deserve. i agree... i feel they are very influential but not necessary billboard famous. But they have a huge fan base worldwide you can see by their sellings. I am saying this living in south america btw . More on Spanish language countries than brasil ofc. But i could say they are well known in brasil too.

in past 15 years, the two best live shows i went to, was sonic youth, and yeah yeah yeahs. karen o is so charming and magnificent, i think she is an alien.
@RappersDelight8083 жыл бұрын
I've seen both too and one was sonic youth doing the whole of daydream nation, plus the rest of the gig filled with just hits. Utterly amazing when you have loved them all your life and been buying their albums since about 12. As for YYY, it was at a better venue and I was right and the front, Karen came on as a mummy and I thought, wow this is going to be amazing, and get what, it was in my top 5 gigs and ive seen about 300 bands/artists live. But Sonic youth at the Roundhouse, an historical building was something special too. Damn I've forgotten about so many good gigs I've been too.

Gotta love Karen O. She pretty much kicks ass in every song they have made. And its not just her, it's the whole band. Just sit down and listen to the drum beats in every song, none of those are easy. Nick not only has the coolest hair ever, he also always has a guitar melody that compliments Karens voice quite well. This is one amazing band and one amazing song. Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!

Perfect end to the album in the trilogy of back to back songs with "Sweets" and "Warrior". Some of the best stuff I've heard, as an album. The album was kind of sad and erratic like she was having fits, throwing paint at the canvas and walls. It was noisy but had interludes of sorrow. This song has its own energy, it's very playful like running through a carnival fair at night or dancing with yourself like no one's looking but when everyones looking, and it's the last song of Show Your Bones (the version I have) which makes me think after the emotional rollercoaster of the album I was put through, that there's hope at last. "Turn into, hope I do" like this song states. This is awesome, albums should tell stories. Every Indie drama comedy should have some YeahYeahYeahs in it.
