Jimmy!! Brother!! Four years ago I cut my teeth with “ book tube “ on your channel! It’s people like you ,though we have never met in person ,who have succeeded in making me a part of this community! Let’s put away this talk of 2025 being the last year for the channel. Yours is a channel that I regularly check to see what’s on and I confess that I haven’t watched everything you put out😅 but you’re like a security blanket for me. When I am able to sit down and watch you never fail to disappoint me. Whether it’s a live stream like this or you’re talking about a book I’ve read or might read I’m thoroughly engaged! Let’s not fail to mention that it’s wonderful to watch you interact with the other creators that I enjoy watching as well. Man one of the best things I’ve experienced was watching the supposed short stream Allen and you did recently while you and Kelsey were visiting. My face hurt from smiling so much watching you guys make each other laugh! Loved it and you brother. Happiest of New Year’s to you and Mrs. Nutts.

Jimmy, your channel has become really important to me. I hope you stick around for the years to come. I'm just a guy from Brazil who started to watch your malazan review videos, since almost nobody arround here have read that series. Great year end wrap up! I got a couple of book queued in front of it but I'm hoping to get to Cloud Atlas in 2025. I've heard that the book is similar to some of Thomas Pynchon's work which has my interest. I have read over 20 books by Sanderson and have a similar reaction of being up and down with him and wishing that I loved it as much as everyone else. For me, my novel of the year is The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I thought it was kinda of mid at the start but by the end I can see why it's considered a classic in post-modernism anf existential fiction. Love your channel! Hope you keep enjoying making videos . So much fun. Another year ends with you in the background, the new year starts the same way and since it's you that means it's a good thing. I find that I can't contemplate a time without The Fantasy Nuttwork channel around, that sounds wrong now, I believe that would be the worst decision (for us viewers at least, depending on where you're at in life if it ever happens), almost as wrong as you not ever finishing Parks and Recreation when the final season is probably the best closure to a series/characters arcs ever written (yes, I can't stop thinking about it since you first mentioned it years ago... please fix this). I went in expecting 200 pages of boringness, but it was amazing!! I surely hope shallow, action packed books are not becoming the norm. But i dont think so. Love that you included Tana French. I've enjoyed her as well, especially the first two books of her Dublin Murder Squad series. And CLOUD ATLAS - the G.o.A.T.!! (I second your comment to start with the Bone Clocks, but only because after Cloud Atlas, nothing achieves the same high.) You asked for shorter books. I strongly recommend Exit West, another of my all-time favorites. It's a work of magical realism with gorgeous prose, and it clocks in under 250 pages. Among books I've read this year, I'd recommend The God of the Woods - very different in tone from Tana French, but if you enjoy literary fiction that's also a mystery, this one is pretty cool. (Also does the multiple P.o.V. thing that A.S.o.I.a.F. does.) And I also read a nice sci-fi short-fiction collection from Timothy Hickson (another KZbinr) called A Catalogue for the End of Humanity. The novella close to the collection's conclusion - Trickledown Lobotomies - was really cool and imaginative, while I also appreciated the elegiac tone of many of the shorter pieces.

Very based as usual. Hope you get what you want out of your channel next year. As someone currently playing Dark Souls 3, ideas of stagnation, rot and holding onto things for too long is at the forefront on my mind. 2025 shall be my year of change 🔥 I read some Flannery O’Connor this year. Highly recommend if you want to feel attacked as a person 😂 She has some thoughts on what it means to act selflessly when living a secular life (spoiler: they aren’t the nicest thoughts). Does it beautifully though.
